Calling the press “fake news” is harmful. Calling them “seditious, perhaps even treasonous” for publishing reporting is something else entirely. Treason is a capital crime. Suggesting journalists should face it for exercising their First Amendment rights and doing their jobs is dangerous.

Trump and his MAGA followers have been calling for journalists to be killed for an entire decade. It is unfathomable to me why every journalistic organization in the country doesn't treat them as the enemies that they are, let alone ignores that it's their rhetoric that incites people to violence.

While we're grateful that most anti-LGBTQI+ provisions were removed, the GOP kept one anti-trans provision in the final bill—and that's one too many.

kind of telling that this is not a bill that has gotten a lot of publicity, and defense bills usually sail through. yet somehow Johnson and Trump have managed to turn this into an embarrassing deadlock.
30 mins later, just one more vote in favor of moving forward with debate on the NDAA.
Speaker Johnson can hold the vote open as long as he wants to try to twist arms and find votes for this. Not much progress happening for now, though.

This flood situation is pretty crazy. There’s a flood wall along the Skagit River in Mount Vernon that was built to handle water up to 37 feet, but some predictions have this thing up to 47 feet and downtown is right along the river.
