The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

I've said it before but in parenting I sort of faintly feel like the upside down version of one of those Quiverful types right now.
I am essentially preparing my children to do moral battle in a world run by a manifestly evil elite and it is not a great feeling

It's not a sophisticated reaction, but my response to both "quiet, piggy" and the Coast Guard okaying swastikas and nooses is a deep sadness that the compassion we're working so hard to foster in our children will not just be challenged by schoolyard bullies but by the highest levels of society.
