all i'm saying is that today could have been a beautiful day
I brought three small signs to my protest today. The one that got the most positive reactions (laughs, thumbs up, and even a hell yeah!) was the one I worried would ruffle the most feathers:

Gross
Old
Pedophiles

The normies ain't playing anymore.
every smug internet communist tweet about showing up to a No Kings protest with an abolish ICE shirt to scare the libs is getting completely mogged by the real-life winemoms showing up with slogans like "ICE will melt in hell"

Today's official crowd count estimate from #NoKings coalition:

7 million people turned out nationwide

That's 2 million more than the #NoKings peaceful protests in June

it’s been horrifying to see how many republicans believe in the “elected dictator” theory especially after they spent the entire Biden and Obama presidencies (who both won by larger margins) saying that they are dictators

“You can win elections by tacking to the middle; lots of people have. But you can also win elections by staking a moral position and convincing people to agree with you. You can earn support by demonstrating what is important to you instead of just being determined to nod along with what you hear.”

I’ve covered a lot of protests in SF. This may be the biggest and the vibes are fucking incredible

My report from Chicago on the Trump administration's war on immigrants and how people are pushing back, protecting their neighbors through newly-formed community safety networks, spontaneously confronting ICE agents in the streets & more — at @newlinesmag.bsky.social

Elites collapsed and capitulated. Regular people never did. #NoKings
Remember back in January when all these sage politics-knowers were writing about how there had been a vibe shift and now the resistance was over?

lol. lmao.

One cool thing about the No Kings branding is that it's negatively polarizing Trump and his supporters into just saying out loud that they want him to be king
David Sacks is currently posting AI content of Trump as a king and Dems kneeling if you were wondering where his brain is at

this rocks. when indiana edu killed the student newspaper, Purdue stepped up, printed the forbidden issue, drove it to Bloomington and stocked the boxes.

I posted that we should remember small town protests in red states and got Well Actuallyed by several people who insisted ______ has suffered more and we should remember them.

This isn’t the Oppression Olympics. We need all hands, not just the purest and noblest.

A successful protest movement requires as broad a coalition as possible.

If you’re recoiling from the support of mainstream privileged segments of society, you’re not trying to win the fight, you’re just trying to win personal praise.

Leah and I just got off the stage in DC. More than 200k. Double what we saw for Hands Off! This movement is incredible.

We’re better than fear. We’re braver than billionaires. We’re bigger than ever. And we will win. #NoKings

MSNBC Grandmas in Skechers seamlessly reclaiming the frog from 4chan Nazis in about six weeks has gotta be the political upset of the century.

Based on early numbers, there are easily more people participating in the second No Kings Day than in the first. Trump's strategy of constantly talking about this on TV and GOP govs sending in the national guard obviously energized the left. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

They'll cast these rallies as "angry" but everyone there is plainly having a great time because it's fun to get together with like-minded people to engage in the oldest American tradition: telling a tyrant to eat shit

“Let’s do the fucking news”
Across all the major outlets — NYT, WSJ, WaPo, LAT, CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox News, NBC, CNBC, NPR, Bloomberg — the only outlet without a No Kings story on its home page is CBS News.

For every other outlet, it's near the top. Even Fox News is running with "Nationwide unrest looms as thousands mobilize"
It's hilarious how almost every single counter protestor we've had has been a guy, alone in his car (or more often truck).

MAGA and the Trump movement is, at its core, just angry men who need therapy.
