Meme thread. Daily? Who knows. We'll see if I even remember it exists.

1.

Today's theme: a little dirty but we're all adults here.

(Hell doesn't exist but what I AM gonna say is I would not want to be him in the active dying phase because the shit he's going to hallucinate is going to be tortuous and I'll save my woo-woo about his life review and karmic debt for another time and stick with his meatsuit consequences.)

Not to be That Guy on main, but...is that all? I thought it'd be more.

(It's still too much, don't even bother coming at me, I'm just surprised it's only $100K in 8 months.)

He right, though.

Trump says a lot of weird and concerning stuff that people just kind of shrug at but right now I’m stuck on how he keeps insisting he’s going to hell

TIL that "sitting governor of a state getting into an open primary is astroturfing, actually"
Competitive primaries that are organic and don't rely on the party establishment coming in with a big sack of money begging someone very old to save them from someone with actual political beliefs.

I am once again flabbergasted at how little political hobbyists on this site actually understand politics that they seem to think that a political party has no vested interested in getting strong candidates to run for open seats and that something underhanded is going on of they try to do that

the same people who warned you about john fetterman are warning you about that dude in Maine. if you want to get duped into another fetterman, by all means continue attacking Janet Mills.

if you'd like a reliable vote for democracy, democratic values, and Mainers, go with a proven track record.

People knew how to write headlines, once upon a time.

Tell children today that, they won't believe you.
Newspaper website headline: "Blind bisexual goose named Thomas who spent six years in a love triangle with two swans and helped raise 68 babies dies at the ripe old age of 40."

I think of Maine as the Montana of the East Coast and in that regard this all tracks.
pmeyers7.bsky.social
It seems especially pretty odd in the Maine case given that 1) in my experience, Mainers generally do what they want and don't listen to folks From Away and 2) it's not like Mills is being imposed upon them - she's a popular 2 term governor. I understand the age concerns, but the voters do too?

This bizarre feeling amongst takes merchants where the DNC/DSCC/DCCC etc. are these darkly powerful organizations who can manipulate voters away from the right(tm) position and also simultaneously completely incompetent is so fucking weird. Make up your mind!

Eric Trump: "We're saving Christianity. We've saving God. We've saving the family unit. We're saving this nation. I mean, DEI is out of the window, Benny. You no longer have Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the national anthem. You no longer have Budweiser going woke as hell. All of this is dead."

"He can't win a primary but he can DEFINITELY beat a long-time incumbent who most general election voters view as a moderate" is some terminally online bananas thinking.

If he can win against one old lady, he can win against two, and he should prove that.

one response to this (correct) observation is to say “well, the cops will attack you no matter how you dress and behave.” that’s right. images of cops and ICE beating grandmas and kids in inflatable frog costumes is a win for the opposition.
sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com
one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

MAGA Rage at “No Kings” Boils Over—and It Quickly Backfires on Trump
As Trump allies smear the coming protests, a good writer on MAGA skewers the absurdity of these attacks on large swaths of Americans—and explains why our best recourse will be to turn out in force.

I never buy brand-new tech or or download new updates until way after other people have done so, because invariably there's a bunch of shit wrong with it and I want to hear what that is and let it be addressed before I jump in.

That's why you want a primary.

Ppl on this site are gonna be big mad about this, but I cant imagine anything that would boost Graham Platners campaign more than beating a well liked incumbent governor in a primary and I dunno why theyd not want to have him get a big early victory like that.

He was a shitty freeholder, too.

His treatment/betrayal of public employees as governor I will never be able to forgive.

This version is confirmed, by Hoffman Estates police, puncturing the official DHS statement.

At this point, there is a statement from DHS re 🧊 activities in the Chicago area that’s refuted in similar fashion on nearly a daily basis at a minimum over the past week

Despite what some, including at DHS, are claiming, this video isn’t from a year ago in Chicago. It was Friday in Hoffman Estates, in my district, a street I’ve walked myself. It appears to show a child being violently detained by ICE. It’s real, and I’m demanding accountability.

I think personal “weakness” is the wrong framework. Biden couldnt do it because there was an election months away and bibi wanted trump to win because it guaranteed an unfettered hand and continued support, which was less certain under a second biden term.
