I think the cognitive error here is what I am going to call - from A Man for All Seasons - the 'This Isn't Spain!' fallacy: the assumption that some special forcefield enforces the regularity of your country's politics, so that things that happen elsewhere 'cannot happen here.'

Fail*ing* but not failed. Trump's party got rocked in the last elections, Congress almost unanimously bucked him on a key issue (Epstein files) and his popularity is a steady downward slope into the abyss.

I have volumes of ugly tracts about how Jews, Germans, Finns, Hungarians, Poles, and "Papists" can't possibly acclimate to American life because they are hereditary degenerates.
What I always find fascinating about comments like this is that they have been made about literally every immigrant group throughout American history: Germans, Irish, Miller's Jewish ancestors, etc.

It would be great if these rich guys would start out on a school board or city council so they can learn how to work with others, because being the owner who signs everyone’s checks doesn’t make you capable of running a country where you need to know how it works and how to compromise.
