The one thing left that can truly unite America: hating Andrew Cuomo
Sliwa to Cuomo: You’re gonna stand up to Trump? You Andrew Cuomo? You lost your own primary and you’re still here because you don’t know the meaning of the word “no”

Mamdani: I agree with Curtis.

Idk if I should think less of Logan Paul for having Andrew Cuomo on his podcast or think less of Andrew Cuomo for going on Logan Pauls podcast.

ICE becoming an Officially Republican Department should man that there's absolutely zero question as to its abolition
Trial shows that ICE agents lied, concealed evidence in an illegal effort to convict the "libtard" who filmed them.

On this day in 1859, the radical abolitionist John Brown led his raid on Harpers Ferry. He represents the very best of what this Republic stands for, and, like the many Union soldiers who fought and died after him, should never be forgotten.

STATEMENT OF SIDNEY REID

This verdict shows that this administration and their peons are not able to invoke fear in all citizens. I am just one woman, one human, one citizen of DC disgusted by this reality that we are forced live in. I feel sorry for the prosecutors really, who must be burdened by Trump's irrational and unfounded hatred for his fellow man. He's a crazy person who's in charge of the most powerful nation. Knowing that I can stand in front of 12 of my fellow citizens and be found not guilty for standing up for basic human rights makes me feel like, despite the scary times we live in, we have hope for the future.

STATEMENT OF COUNSEL, TEZIRA ABE AND EUGENE OHM

We are pleased with the verdict but this is a trial that should never have happened. Twelve D.C. residents, numerous taxpayer-paid court staff and public defenders had to spend time and resources on trying a case that has no place in a free democracy.

This case is a warning from the Department of Justice that they will have the backs of ICE goons, even when three grand juries reject their baseless charging decisions. And though we're pleased with the result, Ms. Reid cannot get back the two nights she spent in jail because ICE wanted to teach her a lesson.

The Department of Justice can continue to take these cases to trial to suppress dissent and to try and intimidate the people. But in the end, as long as we have a jury system, our citizens will continue to rebuke the DOJ through speedy acquittals.

Also, Hillary was telling the truth. Whereas these smears by the White House are flatly untrue and completely delusional

Ultimately, a major reason why Trump might intervene in New York would be part of an ICE campaign to round up and deport undocumented immigrants. That’s been an argument, pretense he’s made in several places where the National Guard eventually comes. There are an estimated 400,000 undocumented immigrants in New York. And as you found as you ran this primary that was so successful, and you met with many Trump-supporting New Yorkers who turned around and supported you, is that their viewpoint on these issues is complicated. And many of them have serious objections to undocumented immigrants and many of them have serious objections to the level of undocumented immigration in a place like New York City. But I don’t hear from your campaign that you’re going to be participating in any Trump-led effort to detain, deport undocumented immigrants.

I’m not looking to assist Donald Trump in his attempt to fulfill his campaign promise to create the single largest deportation force in American history. Even if you know that some of your — maybe perhaps many of your — supporters want illegal immigration to be treated differently than it has.

What I’ve heard from my supporters and what I’ve heard from New Yorkers, frankly, is a desire for dignity. And in looking at what ICE’s presence has been in New York City, what it has meant for our city, seeing at the very least an absence of that, and in fact an attack, not only on the question of dignity, but on the very fabric of the city. There are New Yorkers I know of who took down the numbers on every apartment on their floor. So that ICE wouldn’t know where anyone lived. I spoke to a Dominican barbershop owner in Harlem who told me that all of his barbers have legal status and they are terrified of coming to work. A general sense of the hollowing out of the immigrant hubs of this city. And no, I’m not going to help Donald Trump in doing so. I’m in fact going to fight Donald Trump when he looks to tear families apart. And I’m going to do so because I know what the stakes are when he detains a 6-year-old girl from Queens and deports her. I know that her principal is writing a letter to ICE, saying please don’t do this. I mean here you’re saying the method can’t be separated from the goal and you’re rejecting the method——

I think also I reject the goal. It’s not just the manner in which this detention is happening. It’s the fact that the goal here is cruelty. The goal is to rip these families apart and the goal is to attack so much of what is the foundation of the city as an immigrant city.

Would you ever meet with President Trump in the hope that you could defang this person, this president, who may have ill will toward you, but frankly doesn’t really know you at all?

Absolutely, I will meet with President Trump. I think it’s incumbent upon any mayor of this city to meet with the president of the country. What I won’t do is work with President Trump at the expense of the city. That’s the critique that I’ve made of Andrew Cuomo and of Eric Adams, is that their conversations with Trump have more to do with themselves than to do it with the people of the city. It’s not that they’re talking to him, it’s that who are they talking to him about?

To repeat it: the reason why Young Republicans are talking about loving Hitler and FedSoc judges are destroying the jurisprudence is because *they've never in their lives seen someone suffer for promoting those polices*. Not Newt, not Rush Limbaugh, not Scalia or Thomas, no one!
i mean it that we won't see a meaningful change in the GOP until folks like this spend the rest of their days in misery, and their kids reject them when they've reached the age. anything less and they'll think their gambits worth it!

AI video generation is pretty much entirely a net negative, this is barely scraping the tip of the iceberg in terms of the damage this shit will do
For @spitfirenews.com, I found that increasingly realistic AI-generated videos are being deployed to harass, smear, and create endless offensive content of influencers, whose likenesses are already readily available online. It’s happening to private figures, too.

The PC (piece of crap) I *have* to use for work is already cumbersome and stupid. Giving it a voice will not help any part of it. Forced ai is like forcing people to smoke cigarettes, and it will eventually backfire, just like the doctors who used to smoke eventually had to stop suggesting cigs did.

Options for your switch to Linux if you are a complete beginner:

1. Linux Mint Cinnamon

2. Fedora (I haven't tried, but have heard good things)

3. Bazzite

4. CachyOS (this one's where I live now)

For options 2-3, when given a choice of DE, choose KDE for the most windows-like experience.

Tech executives really and truly do not understand how people use technology.
“All the data that we see is when people use voice, they love it,” says Mehdi. Some of that data is the billions of minutes that people spend talking in Microsoft Teams meetings. “They’re talking through their computers today, and I think this change to ‘talk with and talk to’ will come to reality and we’ll see this thing really take off,” says Mehdi.
