I really do believe in God and that God has a purpose for the American story. I still have hope for the city on a hill, that somehow reconciliation and brotherhood will someday emerge from the original sin of racial enslavement. That we will be a righteous people and live in harmony.
It’s wild seeing the apprehension enter doctors’ eyes anytime they have to suggest treatment, people are so anti-medicine now. Even the vet. “Well we may need to use sedation if that’s okay…” yes pls sedate the sh*t out of my dog that’s precisely why we are here
I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe… [admitted unprompted on Facebook]
I think a lot of people don’t realize how insanely pervasive and coercive the early 2010s “the only way to make it as a young writer is to publish insanely confessional, raw online essays about your darkest secrets and trauma” culture was.
My three year old just asked me if overactive choirs/music do not effectively (mirror the Evangelical impulse to) treat music as the center of worship, rather than as an optional supplement to Word and Sacrament
Too bad it immediately fails the smell test here in the US/Canada.

What, are we expected to forget that y’all are the same people who’d destroy the republic and decency itself just to avoid GAFCON immigrants as neighbors? Gmafb.
Conservative schismatics really think they've got something on the rest of us with that whole "global" framing
“Doomscrolling” is to become an AP world history vocab term. Relates to consciousness of state collapse by the ordinary person. Compare/contrast w the peasant of late antiquity
Also, Hillary was telling the truth. Whereas these smears by the White House are flatly untrue and completely delusional
“Deplorables” was a scandal for years and she wasn’t even in the government yet. This is the White House Press Secretary, whose salary is paid by the American public.
Leavitt: "The Democrat Party's main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals."
My goal is to show people that republicans are the actual target of biblical condemnation, always have been

Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord.
Their foot shall slip in due time:
The day of their calamity is at hand, and their doom cometh swiftly.
Oh yes, absolutely.

Rise up, thou Judge of the earth
LORD, how long shall the wicked triumph?
They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage
I’m going biblical:

Depart from me, ye cursed ICE, into everlasting fire, for I was a stranger, and ye took me not in.

look i was recently talking to a septuagenarian life long dem (who shall remain nameless) and generic lib, and she was like “i just think there should be firing squads and they should sell tickets.”
He shall recompense them their wickedness, and destroy them in their own malice; yea, the LORD our God shall destroy them.
The grand objective of McConnell’s career was always Jim Crow.
white reactionaries disenfranchising black voters to secure political power? that’s a jim crow. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/15/u...

This distinction is fascinating and I’m not entirely certain what to make of it, theologically / ecclesiologically
Who sucks more, those who failed to vote, or politicians who failed to “earn” said votes?

What a mystery! But you know who doesn’t suck at all? People that voted. The undeniably blameless.
All of us were raised from birth on anti-George III propaganda, but the good Lord granted me immunity.

Colonists were pro-king until suddenly it was convenient to cast the conflict in republican terms. Jefferson et al knew damn well the bad guy was Parliament. Scapegoated king to sell the public.
Incidentally, I’ve been chafing a bit at the “No Kings” thing, because there are loads of monarchies that have more limits on executive power than the US does, but it has the great advantage that it makes Americans who want to oppose it sound, well, unamerican….
one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

If Nebuchadnezzar isn’t heaven-bound how did he destroy the temple then? Explain that
Eric Trump: "If he wasn't heaven-bound, he wouldn't have been alive after Butler. If he wasn't heaven-bound, that flag wouldn't have folded up like a perfect angel right above his head. If he wasn't heaven-bound, if he wasn't meant for this purpose, he wouldn't have beaten Hillary."
“2020 RFK Book Award” I read somewhere and think of that concrete dried worm. What a name tarnished. Whatever you make of RFK’s life, he’d gone into eternity an American prophet.
Opportunity to appreciate FDR’s v episcopal national prayer on D-Day
Hold my beer this is gonna be my protest sign
There’s an argument for lard but imo butter just gets you something closer to a croissant. I might add a tiny amount with Crisco to adjust moisture/sweetness but the proper butter application here is melted immediately upon the glorious opening of the biscuit.
