Before I actually crack open Daggerheart, I want to talk about a very important related topic: THE BOX.

Because I had not been paying attention, it was only when I walked into Games & Stuff that I realized that the hardcover book came bundled with a box.

Also, to the 6 people who get the reference: Lewis is the best, and it absolutely feels like there’s an ongoing conflict in the writing room between people who appreciate that and people who really want him to be the butt.

Of note, Gina Torres plays Jessica, the boss. Historically, this has been one of my wife’s all time favorite characters, because she’s an absolute badass.
However, in the intervening time, my wife has become an experienced leader, and now can’t unsee how that badassness is terrible people leadership

For somewhat random reasons, we have been re-watching ”Suits”. It remains a lovely example of an era of TV is that I greatly miss.

That said, a lot of it hits different now. TV lawyers are always terrible, but I have fresh appreciation for how terrible the workplace is.

Do I know anyone with insights into running Gumshoe in general and Fall of Delta Green / Trail of Cthulhu in particular? I wanted to give FoDG a go and was aiming for a Twin Peaks, Jacobs Ladder, X-Files vibe. I've not run it before though and barely played it so could use some tips.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.
