People also don’t realise the toll medications and medical interventions take on your body. They keep you alive/functioning but there’s always a cost.
The “tired” you feel when chronically ill is very different than a healthy person’s version of “tired”.

A healthy person can take a nap and feel 100%.

They can have a coffee and perk up.

We are tired 24/7. Sleep doesn’t fix it. Rest doesn’t fix it. It’s soul destroying.

Oh so when a teenager walks around in a t-shirt in 2° windchill it’s ”cool” and ”badass” but when I do it it’s a ”severe mental health crisis” and ”I’m leaving you”

I have a vague hypothesis that the inconsistent unwieldy kludge of DnD makes it a better game for 3rd party creators to monetize with physical and virtual content.
TTRPG hobby has been colonized by something alright, but it is not theatre kids.

It is who sinks an absurd of money of the DoD or venture capital in some stuff, like say, two VTTs that vanish the moment the tap of moremoneythanthereisinthehobby closes
I cannot express how pathetic you have to be to believe this happened in the TTRPG hobby in the last decade

If you could turn ideas into energy you could power a moderately sized city with the ideas from four (4) ADHDers

There’s so much guilt when you’re chronically ill.

Guilt over needing help from others.

Guilt over not getting better.

Guilt over needing financial assistance.

Guilt over not being “fine”.

Guilt over missing out on family and friend events.

Guilt becomes a constant companion.

I usually react strongly against people pathologising hate as mental illness: there’s no correlation and it only perpetuates stigma.

But Glinner? Yeah he’s 8 kinds of fucked in the head.
One thing that’s fascinating about Linehan and actually a lot of the TERF-o-sphere: his former friends are pretty much all going ‘he seems to be struggling, it’s sad’.

His complaint isn’t ‘cancellation’, it’s that people won’t *actively* speak up and endorse his views.
Graham Linehan has such little self-awareness he *really* doesn’t understand how totally unhinged he seems in his ‘woe is me’ batshit crazy ranting! 😬

He’s the ‘cautionary tale’ of what obsessive ‘gender critical’ transphobia leads to: no friends, no life, and spaghetti carbonara for one!

Discussing with my new campaign group how I view Tellarites as consummate Australians/Kiwis in demeanour. A lot of Europeans and especially Swedes really don't know how to deal with Australians.

I'm playing in a brand new Star Trek roleplaying game campaign tonight which I'm pretty bouncy about. Hope it has some legs, I love finding out about a new character as I play them.

Why do I hear Cruel Angel’s Thesis?
Like some kind of grim Omen of things to come, #Hawaii ’s #Kilauea volcano just unleashed a MASSIVE WING SHAPED eruption with lava fountains soaring 1,500+ feet high

So we unboxed Frosthaven on Sunday and immediately started looking at what we wanted ot 3D print in the way of storage and accessories. We came across this one which we laughed at at first and then... well... it's not a bad idea.

I resent having to refer to stories with a common connected setting as a franchise or intellectual property. Like we’re supposed to describe art in terms of how it applies to capitalism.

Call me weird but I think the sexually assaulting trafficked minors is the bad bit.
November 17, 2025 at 12:09 PM
One of the many reasons I don’t like conflating statutory rape and paedophilia is I don’t like criminalizing mental disorders. People with dangerous/antisocial disorders get treated all the time and may never act on them.

When people *do* assault minors I dgaf what pathology led them there.

Of the 10 best needle drops in TV history The Americans has, like, 5 of them.
i still think about how the americans cooked with its needle drops, cookin' like no tv show ever cooked before or since. oh, you've constructed an entire sequence to the entirety of "listening wind"???? oh you're mic dropping your season finale with "games without frontiers"????

So, say you have a Tellarite captain who had command of a Nebula class in a one shot and who (I think rather shrewdly) undermined a Duras/Romulan plot. Now you're starting a campaign and have to choose between command of an Intrepid, a Galaxy, or an Akira. Wouldn't you want to keep the Nebula?

HOLY SHIT. They found the genes for fibromyalgia - and it's *not* autoimmune, it's the central nervous system. It's very cool to see some progress made on the thing that's ruined my life since late teenage years!
Medical Republic: 'Fibromyalgia finally gets a genetic fingerprint'

'Additionally, certain risk loci overlapped with long covid (BPTF) and ME/CFS (OLFM4, RABGAP1L/GPR52), two poorly characterised disorders, albeit with different lead variants.'
