I finished what's available of S5 of Stranger Things and rolled back to S1, and holy christ they all look like they're in Kindergarten.

I don't want to brag, but earlier today I needed to pick up 30 gemini mailers and, upon finishing wrapping the stack of comics I had just now, I am pleased to announce that I eyeballed exactly 30.

Pacey does *not* love me packing orders in the evening when I should be on the couch with her.

That certain book also has this tidbit:

"Though the d20 books themselves did well, sales of the original Deadlands supplements — which had topped $60,000 a month at the company’s height — dropped in half."

(But, yeah, unwinding the Cybergames deal definitely seemed to hurt Pinnacle.)

One of the few d20 conversions that I think didn't do damage to the original brand: Call of Cthulhu d20. Great author (John Tynes!) , solid publication (by WotC!), and perhaps more importantly: always intended as a one-and-done, so it didn't crash in 2003 and take the original with it.

Some great specific answers here from Shannon.

In some cases I think it's hard to know if the real damage was caused by converting games to/adding d20 lines vs the overall state of the industry.

Obviously it was probably "some of each" in every case.
The question is: have d20 conversions done harm to a game line or publisher. (Thanks @chrishanrahan.bsky.social for the pointer.)

Yeah, I think so. I think they've done damage to the original lines, which wasn't repairable when d20 died out. And I think they've done brand damage.
A serious question: In the ~25 years that people/publishers have been converting their RPGs to be d20 system/5e-based, what examples are there of the conversion doing serious harm to the game line/publisher as a whole?

Chaosium w/ Dragon Lords of Melniboné, perhaps. It bombing sure seemed to throw a wrench into the company’s fortunes…

If you edit CSV files a bunch, Modern CSV is so nice. It's much more lightweight than Excel and intuitive.

Visually it's very utilitarian, does not feel like a macOS app but is close enough given its other strengths.

It snowed last night.

I took Pacey to the door this morning, and she looked appalled, then ran to the front chair and immediately began to stand guard.

No more snow will fall on Pacey's watch.

Canada has no pickles though
Could you tell her Canadians are here to be potentially trolled regarding pickles?

That might catch her interest, I dunno.
