I think what the original poster is saying is that they expected Black folks to be the face and wanted to tie narratives about Black folks and criminality to black bloc property violence but instead they're getting vulnerable white people and folks in costumes that make the feds look ridiculous.

So, I’m not sure how to say this in a way that doesn’t sound confrontational but as a matter of human dignity even the most benevolent monarchy in history deserves to have its wealth, titles, and status stripped and its members made ordinary citizens at minimum. The rest deserve what the French got.

Incidentally, I’ve been chafing a bit at the “No Kings” thing, because there are loads of monarchies that have more limits on executive power than the US does, but it has the great advantage that it makes Americans who want to oppose it sound, well, unamerican….

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.

Albany Park is an interesting place to throw down and a classic example of ICE's intel not being up to snuff. It's a diverse neighborhood that has a solid balance of upper middle class white families who WANT to be in a diverse neighborhood, old White Ethnics, and immigrants with support systems.
