I've spent time with family, gone on a beautiful canal walk, and eaten delicious ramen already today - time to round it out with one of the most important transfemme shortform anthologies ever published 🩷

This paperback is one of the coolest rare copies I've worked with.

I still have the letter I got back from William Hague when I wrote to him as a queer teenager arguing for the end of Section 28 and the equalisation of the age of consent - he confidently asserted that Section 28 would never be repealed and age of consent never equalised.

Not once have I seen an explanation for why teenagers must hear things that upset them in virtue of the unspecified speech-acts being upsetting, nor have I ever seen an explanation for why teenagers will be forbidden to express displeasure with upsetting things.
William Hague: Why I’ll banish ‘safe spaces’ at Oxford
The new chancellor tells Cheltenham Literature Festival that there will be no ‘cancel culture’ and students should expect to hear things that upset them
October 14 2025, The Times
The new chancellor of Oxford University has said there will be no safe spaces for students and warned would-be undergraduates that they will “hear things that will upset and offend them”.

So Milei's sociopathic turbo-Libertarianism is such a disaster, it needs to be bailed out with $40billion. What a loser! And so are all the politicians who held him up as a neoliberal hero when he was first elected.

We've written to @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social to request the government to revoke the 2011 services code and make our updated version statutory. It accurately reflects the law and updated guidance is urgently needed: www.equalityhumanrights.com/media-centre...

Oh no, there goes my concurrent action against the EHRC.

Ash likes to take bad people to court in person. But Ash can’t sue the EHRC… and now Ash feels empty. 😞

The EHRC has finally, five months after producing its wildly transphobic and, we believe, unlawful Interim Guidance now taken it down. Our judicial review challenge to that Interim Guidance will be heard in less than one month.

Absolutely! The EHRC is really floundering right now, and Bridget Phillipson (so we hear) is getting increasingly annoyed at them.

What better time than now to write (using our easy-peasy tool) and pressure Phillipson to reject the EHRC’s segregationist Code 🤗📝🤗

This coming down is good.

It was transphobic nonsense which put trans people into a liminal third category which is a breach of international law…

…as the new statutory guidance almost certainly does too. So we fight that too.

This is a stepping stone towards a more equal future:

Labour is telling you VERY LOUDLY who to vote for if you value human rights. And it's definitely NOT LABOUR.

Woah! So Labour's position really is, 'telling us off for breaching human rights undermines the case for human rights'? Proper Trumpian stuff from Labour's answer to Suella Braverman.

This could be applied to a number of journalists, columnists, radio hosts and presenters in the UK.

Yet trans people, or even just trans-supportive voices, are completely shut out from the mainstream news media! 😣
