Leavitt: At this moment in time, the ballroom is really the president's main priority.

We can and SHOULD be concerned about many things at once. This is a big deal. Oh, and also - RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES. BRING CONGRESS BACK TO SECTION WHERE THEY F'ING BELONG.
I know it's common to dismiss so many things as "distractions" from the important things we face but I refuse to accept that Trump is literally taking backhoes to the White House and Congress hasn't said a word as an important damn thing. We can be concerned about many things at once.

Give fewer fucks. No, less than that. Less. You’re still 2 fucks too high. There you go. Better living through lower standards.
Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

I had three days of symptoms. First day and night was overall blah. middle of the night chills kicked in and lasted the whole second day. Third day was sweating profusely.
Get the vax, but like on a Friday!
People saying that this round of vaccines seems... rougher... is true IME. For the first time ever Novovax gave me a fever (thankfully it took almost a day to kick in and the fever was very mild and only lingered for a few hours).
We’re more hoping that it’ll make some of the other side GAF, I think.

Calling @t-mobile.bsky.social to express my extreme disgust that that they are funding the demolition of the east wing of the white house, and that they reconsider their involvement, lest I'll be forced to take my many lines elsewhere.

It's never too late to learn something new.
It's never too late to discover the secret language of trees.
It's never too late to wrap yourself in moss & malice and become the forest horror that timid folk whisper about in the dark.

learned recently that the guy who wrote "The Night Before Christmas," clement clarke moore, also wrote a takedown of thomas jefferson's proto-scientific racism in "Notes on the State of Virginia," basically accusing him and others of making it up to justify slavery. which, that's right.

Oh, now I'm REALLY pissed
Apparently they also cut out trees. Look how big it was.
Your results MIGHT be skewed by the overwhelming majority of men in techie positions.

My company seems to be an outstanding exception…my department is something like 45-60% women, & some nonbinary representation. And we’re all remote workers.

Dear god please let them nail Trump on a permit issue by the county
“As of September, the White House had not even submitted plans to the National Capital Planning Commission, which by law must approve construction for most federal buildings …

The president and his allies have claimed that Trump doesn’t need approval for the demolition and building.”
“Trump’s new ballroom was originally billed as a $100 million project but has since ballooned into a $250 million behemoth …”

"The demolition work comes despite Trump insisting during an executive order signing in July that his ballroom renovations wouldn’t ‘interfere with the current building.’”

Elizabeth Warren: "I'm just going to say something that a lot of people said on Saturday. We don't have a king in this country, and Donald Trump doesn't get to sit over in the White House and make all of these decisions by himself. At least he doesn't get to if Senate Republicans would grow a spine"

Rick Scott was CEO of a company forced to settle what the DOJ called “the largest healthcare fraud case in history.”
Is that the expertise that’s driving your “plan.”

Reminder that Trump is tearing down the WH literally and there's still a massive contingent of Dems obsessed over trying to fight against their own nominee in the NYC mayoral race, including people not even in NYC lol

Every single writer I know is SO bummed about how horribly heavy-handed the plot of the universe is right now. We’d never get away with this nonsense, and it pisses all of us off.

But also, the people in charge have no respect for the arts, so why would they be good at writing, I guess?
Hey, friends, followers, and “None of the above”: would you agree that it’s just basic web etiquette to provide Alt Text descriptions for images?

Let me hear all the takes.
Selfish? I don’t have impaired vision, but I know folks who do.

I’m….also not here for tone policing, friend. Have a good rest of your day.
Well, okay. That’s not a great hill to die on though, friends.
