Elder advocate for the beautiful world I inherited but fear my great grandchildren will never get to see the beauty - all burned up and polluted with single-use plastics. Environmental degredation makes me so sad. But I love to grow food and flowers.

Very disappointed that final decision was an either this particular complex plan or nothing. I have never seen other potential renewal of north side without the condo towers. Keep our park! We need to keep farmer’s market, winter market and other successful city-wide draws. Keep the green!

Doug Ford is a stupid sack of fetid puss.
“The Ford Govt in Ontario has passed a controversial omnibus bill banning municipalities from installing speed cameras.

Ford says it will make the province more efficient & reduce red tape.

It won’t do either, and he knows it.

It might get him “speeder votes” though.

This will kill more people.

Every change costs more. If it’s not in the rfp, it’s not happening unless we pay extra. It’s how the contracting world works (any why getting it right at procurement and design is key) (ex: where a normal project might have 5-12% budget for change orders, at DCA we are typ 1-3%)

Important
Hey Ontario! You've heard of the disastrous Ford bill to destroy tenant rights, but did you know that Omnibus Bill 60 would entirely wipe out the ability of cities to right-size their roads by reducing lanes _at all_, not even just for bike lanes?

I sent my email to @lauradudas.bsky.social & @mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social.
You can too with the tool provided by @horizonottawa.bsky.social.
Ottawa NEEDS so many things to make our city better for EVERYONE who resides here. Landsdowne 2.0 is simply a want & shouldn’t a priority. Pisses me off.
Just because the committee approved it today, doesn't mean Lansdowne 2.0 is a done deal.

We encourage everyone to write to their councillor and tell them to vote NO on November 7th.

Here's a tool for you to easily send a pre-written email: www.horizonottawa.ca/stop_lansdowne

I think it was made abundantly clear that accessibility issues, safety and comfort for customers needs to be addressed by rebuilding the north stands and arena. BUT DO NOT USE THIS PLAN TO FINANCE IT! No condo towers! (let taxes from other condos being built elsewhere do it). No profit in our lives!

In a rapidly changing world, Canada’s new government is focused on what matters most — empowering people with lower costs, new economic opportunities, and supports to build a secure future.

Together, we are building a Canada where every member of our community can thrive.
Government needs to raise income, not take away essential services. Build those affordable housing units using Cdn lumber and wood products. Give people in poverty a guaranteed LIVING basic income so they have tools to be able to help build our country.
Excellent presentations, especially the ones about challenges of those who need accessibility. Why not pause and see if a better design can be made to improve what we have without building condos on the site?

After a long two days arguing about how the city should prioritize significant investment in all facilities (like the Nepean Sportsplex) instead of concentrating on Lansdowne, it’s nice to end the day taking my daughter to her ringette practice at the Sportsplex. Go Ravens!

Toronto condos are not selling. economy severely challenged, including gov. employee jobs. Hope is good but do not count on those future taxes from unsold (maybe) condos. Not meeting needs of families.

It is *projected* to generate those revenues. What happens if the project doesn't meet those projections? How much municipal $ is 10 football games a year worth?
In my opinion based only on gut feelings is that, despite so much money and time has been invested in this version of improvements and development, we should be looking at how the existing facilities can be vastly improved WITHOUT apartment/condo towers. Accessibility and safety, some comfort, yes.

What happened to the long term solution Lansdowne 1 was supposed to solve? The maintenance and repairs that OSEG owns?
What about the $94M we received $0 of from OSEG?

This is a bad idea, offering ONE solution to the current issues at Lansdowne is short sighted.
