Here's a visualization of how Watson and Sutcliffe's austerity impacted our bus fleet since 2010.

This was never a sustainable path and now we're left with too few buses on the best of days, let alone enough to cover for an LRT service disruption.

Awful. 🤮

They were forced to rip up the asphalt and put in grass, but then they added wheel strips to the grass and are now requesting to legalize that.

PP has in the past called for the firing of the governor of the bank of Canada, the arrest of his political opponent while calling the RCMP corrupt. Called for the mass adoption of cryptocurrency and to top it all off claimed the Nazis were "Socialists". That is not principled leadership.

This is such a bummer. I worked really hard on this one.

From the ever talented @brigittepellerin.bsky.social : time for an apology, fare-free transit until it’s fixed, and, importantly, a commitment to a vision to make Ottawas transit work. @mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social needs to own this.

One picture is worth a thousand words

Apparently our mayor thinks a poorly plowed sidewalk and an inaccessible bench (designed so a person can't sleep on it) is something to be proud of 🙃

If this is what Sutcliffe thinks is worth bragging about no wonder things are now awful everywhere in Ottawa

Funny how that's exactly the shortfall in funding transit turned out to be.

@mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social is too busy with his self promotion and electioneering to even take note

Time we elect a leader, not a dishonest spin doctor whose only plan is low taxes, a dirty city and poor service

If journalists are going to talk to #ottawa city councillors, maybe press them on why OC Transpo is “cash-strapped”? Maybe help people understand that the main underpinning of Sutcliffe’s 2026 campaign: “lowest tax increases of any major city in #canada is why this is a shit show. Pathetic

More effective angle would be shaming. Take every Jim Watson plaque down from the city. Replace w debts and names of all councillors who supported and enabled him. Make a public legacy where he would be unwelcome on any boards or local picnics.

I've been reflecting on transit

I've used transit systems all over the world, from a fascinating array of private and public buses, high speed rail, undergrounds/subways, SkyTrains etc. when I visit places. It's by far the best way to experience a city

I never use OCTranspo, I don't trust it

E-bikes are an amazing transportation tool. Especially in urban places. We should make them more accessible along with building safe bike infrastructure. Go after the illegal bikes/electric motorcycles and don't forget about those cars that actually kill almost 40,000 Americans a year.
