Elder advocate for the beautiful world I inherited but fear my great grandchildren will never get to see the beauty - all burned up and polluted with single-use plastics. Environmental degredation makes me so sad. But I love to grow food and flowers.

The lights at most, if not all, intersections in Ontario are already programmed with “all stop” part of the cycle

This started a number of years ago; many drivers quickly realized that “red” meant there were a few more seconds before cross traffic got “green”

They took advantage

And here we are

Don't forget to wait 10 seconds after the light changes to account for the 5 drivers that just don't care and will run very solid reds, often at increased speeds

It used to be "look both ways before crossing".
Now it's "Look both ways 5 times before crossing, then keep looking bothways as you cross and be prepared to jump out of the way of a driver not paying attention or not having a care in the world of killing someone". Anything less, and it's your fault.
Drivers run red lights so often now that I assume at least 1-2 drivers will threaten my life at every intersection.

I’m very worried for the next phase of independence for my kids.

How can I trust that my kids will make it home safe & alive when drivers cannot be trusted with the very basics?

“we need to learn the hard lesson that this is the way it’s going to be. There is no end to Mr. Trump’s tactical bullying & bluster. [He] views any deal not as the end of a process but as the stepping stone to the next set of demands. He will break any deal as soon as he feels it’s in his interest”

The Minister of Education thinks local democracy exists at his command, to be taken away when he feels like it. Bill 33 would shut parents’ voices out of our schools, but we deserve a say in the decisions affecting our kids. The Minister needs to respect parents and withdraw bill 33.

Pay attention, Canada. Read the responses under this & then take a good hard look at what conservative premiers are doing to healthcare in your province. Because they are doing everything they possible can to break our public system & usher in this kind of monstrously evil for-profit system here.
Millions of Americans are already learning that their health insurance costs for 2026 are going way up.

I want to hear from you so we can make this impossible for the GOP to ignore the consequences of their policies.

If your premiums are going up, reply below and please share your story.

Wow, I did not realize the work was that extensive! Thank for posting that!
I have suggested that all hospitals, and public services have something like U-passes the way universities do, as part of their paycheque, with some exceptions for handicap or other reasons.

Expand bulk bus passes beyond universities. What a great idea.

So capacity for the Lansdowne 2.0 arena is regular seating, boxes and standing room. Sounds to me like some charge fans used to being seated spectators will become standing room for those who can get admission to the new state of the art arena.
