Brief thread on what I’ve seen so far for the plane crash in Louisville.

Quick recap:

Very likely a terrible accident. Nothing to do with FAA/ATC issues.

Fully loaded MD-11 heading to Hawaii, so probably near full fuel load. Looks like catastrophic engine failure and then clipped UPS building. /1

Based on everything I’ve seen (which is a fair amount) it looks like a catastrophic engine failure, center engine ingestion / flameout, and then it scraped the top of the UPS building and crashed into the parking lot / junkyard.

No way this anything other than an accident on current data.
