i think one of the biggest indicator that harry potter has less cultural cache than most franchises is this:

harry potter in this decade is going to be a very strong indicator of how unstoppable franchise momentum actually is. will people watch a thing en masse simply because of advertising and their parents’ fandom with precious little innovation or creativity to hook them? i am skeptical , but maybe!
