A multi-day freakout about Mamdani's chances apparently happened because Millennials were waiting to vote until they could get the special Halloween-themed "I voted" stickers

I didn’t have time to update my Grabber costume to match Black Phone 2, but I’m ready for Black Phone 3 - Grabber Goes Hawaiian.

Zohran Mamdani caught lying that he understood Plato’s allegory of the cave, yet when asked to explain it, he seemed to instead explain Baudrillard’s theory of Simulacra and Simulation where reality has been replaced by symbols and signs, which seems similar to Plato’s theory but is not the same

130M? Pfft. Can’t even make a TRON for that.
Billionaire Tim Mellon sent $130M of his $14.1B to fund US military salaries during the Govt shutdown

1. This covers 1/3 of military payroll for 1 day

2. DOD has a $1T budget. $130M is .013% of that

3. Mellon can casually part with $130M—he can be taxed at a 91% marginal tax like during 1940-1980

I am of the opinion that if you run a media company that owns such well beloved IPs such as Batman, Loony Tunes, Mythbusters, HBO, and Cartoon Network... and you can't manage to make money? You are exceedingly bad at your job.
How similar would you say this is to the last time you were in SF? In my memory, that set was the beginning of the BDE tour.
Hopefully this question makes sense. Are these concepts you nail down before you start writing, or do you write and then find these concepts inherently in the characters (or rewrite after analysis and one or more of the concepts could be stronger)?
I get bothered when there’s something out of place on my skin, such as a mosquito bite or ingrown hair. Having a permanent alteration to my skin would never not be a distraction.

The commercial for playball.org - the league's youth initiative - begins with "Everyone knows their softball journey begins with breaking in their first glove." What the hell is that?

I don't look down on softball. But MLB ought to encourage everybody, boys and girls, to play baseball.

“I mean, can we really blame its box office woes on an actor who seems to make people want to stay home in droves and is accused of sex crimes? That is so unfair!”

Does Leto have pictures of people clubbing baby seals or something? It’s bizarre.

Wow I can't believe making a sequel to a series known for underperforming on release, picking an actor known for leading a cult and abuse allegations and starring in bombs, and then using AI to promote it, didn't result in a hit.
‘TRON: ARES’ has earned $14.3M in its opening day at the domestic box office.

For comparison, ‘MORBIUS’ opened to $17.3M.
