Woah! So Labour's position really is, 'telling us off for breaching human rights undermines the case for human rights'? Proper Trumpian stuff from Labour's answer to Suella Braverman.
darkeden21.bsky.social
Imagine Labour being the ones to leave the ECHR just because they decided (and it was a decision) to embrace GC ideology lol

I hope every one of them that doesn't jump over to the Greens loses their seats.

Quite a bodying, here, for the UK, from the Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe.

🏮 He points out the Supreme Court ignored human rights (which breaches its legal obligations)
🏮 He says, in effect agreeing with Lucy Powell, Parliament should be involved...

Labour is the enemy. The ECHR is doing what it's meant to do.

Significant blow today for Stella O'Malley & her anti-trans advocacy organisation Genspect, as their spurious defamation action against Irish therapist, Leonie O'Dowd, is added to "The Gallery of Shame" by CASE (Campaign Against SLAPPs in Europe.) www.the-case.eu/gallery-of-s...

If the review says anything other than "we are not providing any care for the vast majority of adult trans people", I might actually lose my mind.

NHS England will soon be publishing its review of adult gender services. Trans Healthcare Coalition have created a breakdown of what the review is about, what outcomes we’d like to see, and more.

Going to get my NHS HRT renewal today. To do that I'll walk past my GP surgery, get on a train to glasgow, walk through the city centre, meet a pharmacist, get a train back, walk past my GP again, wait for the prescription to come by post, then take it to the pharmacy next to my GP.

Yes, the perpetually dishonest Times is at it again. Today's leader column states "The Supreme Court ruling has made the law abundantly clear" and yet even the Times has no idea what it is. 👇🏻
goodlawproject.org
The Times 12 September: the Supreme Court case "had nothing to do with how or where single-sex spaces should be created."

The Times 26 September: "Trans women are still being held in women's prisons despite the Supreme Court ruling that access to single-sex spaces should be based on biology."

'Gender Critical' transphobic hate group 'SEEN In Journalism' - run by ex-BBC journalists Cath Leng and Jo-Anne Pugh - claim they're "restoring accuracy and impartiality to media coverage of sex and gender"

So why are they using their X account to create a pile-on of a young trans journalist?

ADF was basically behind the Keira Bell case and trans reporters were trying to note similarities between that case and how the group uses lawfare in the U.S. to attack trans rights.
katelynburns.com
yeah man, trans reporters, whom the ny times derogatorily calls "trans activists" so that normies won't listen to them, have been reporting on ADF activity in the UK since 2018.

bigotry in journalism makes you late to the story.

Really important NYT investigation finds that the ADF has been working with Reform, 'courting the party since at least 2024' and that the British arm 'orchestrated Mr Farage’s appearance in Congress, reaching out to ask if he would like to give evidence on censorship'

If I shared this as a shitpost version of what Trump said at the Netanyahu celebration people would chuckle and say "you've done it again, Sooz" but it's just what he literally said.

I listened to the whole thing. Like, it's a speech, by the president, during a major historical event, that's going to be studied in times to come. I was entranced, like I'd wandered into some weird play.

This is how I imagine JK Rowling when she posts.
JK Rowling says "ha ha.. h-heh. I won! I won!" She sits alone in the dark, bathed in the late of her computer screen. We pull back to see her in a large dark empty room. She continues "I won." Seeing the full scope of her cavernous workplace, she appears small and alone. She says, once again, "I won..."

We're entirely funded by our volunteers, supporters, and kind one-off donors.

In the last 6 months, that has enabled us to provide emergency safehouse accommodation for trans people escaping abuse. It has given us the ability to provide a one-to-one support service for homeless trans people...

Certain Labour MPs are worried that backing Phillipson would make them unpopular with their LGBTQ constituents.

I just want to reassure those MPs.

Being in the Labour Party makes you unpopular with your LGBTQ constituents.

"How are the Greens doing?"

Well, I absolutely hate the environment and can't wait to see the world burn, alongside everyone on it, but I joined the party because, holy heck, Zack is the only one speaking sense at the moment.
