I mean it’s already extremely on the nose but if their plans get repeatedly denied and we just go the remainder of the term with a crater where the East Wing used to be it will be the best visual metaphor for this administration imaginable

NEW: After The Washington Post reported Monday on the demolition of the "East Wing facade," a new picture obtained by Law Dork that was taken on Tuesday shows that a substantial portion of the entirety of the East Wing has been demolished.
Aaannd we're back to the 1980s again, I see. This is what happens when Congress turns into a nursing home. 😕
“the way to win men is by showing them that you don’t have standards” is advice I’ve heard before but generally it was in a context involving Jell-O shots and desperation, not the United States Senate

So, I have a bag that I like. Super durable, holds a lot of stuff. I had a patch that I sewed on it, that I did not know when I sewed it on was a hate symbol. I found out. First thing I did was rip that patch right the fuck off the bag. Then I saw that there was sun fading.

Did you know that if your ADHD is acting up and the thought of trying to find a measuring container for the rice is debilitating, you can just use the same container. A mug? Sure. One mug of rice, two mugs of water.

I should clarify that I meant “I am skeptical that the Supreme Court will ultimately allow a lower court to do this, whatever the actual law is,” not that it isn’t obviously right under the law.

I’m skeptical that a court can or will do this, but i think it has to be tried, because the GOP has descended to full lawlessness, and we don’t have any kind of government if the majority party can just refuse to recognize others.

ICE has increased its spending on weapons by 700% since Trump took office.

You read that right — SEVEN HUNDRED PERCENT.

Trump is building his own personal military to terrorize American cities, trample on civil rights, and intimidate his opponents.

I’ll say it again. Not only did they invent this theory. They CHOSE to deliver it to THIS guy, a dangerous raving selfish moron. They could have waited four years and given it all to President Vance or whatever. They chose to give it to Trump.
Unitary executive theory is not wearing well, to say the least. Soon the judges and legal scholars who hatched it (based mostly on some tiny bits and pieces of constitutional text and a tendentious historical account) are going to be lepers. And they are going to richly deserve it.

Here's the thing I don't understand. You can't as much as sneeze near a historic site in Washington without like 14 commissions, councils, and advisory boards giving you the okay. And everybody now is like...yup, fine with us? wtf?

A great thing about our current moment is not being able to guess what "this" is, it could be any one of 10–15 things just in the last week
In any somewhat functioning country this would lead to the fall of the government

"the president is literally stealing $230 million of taxpayer money to pay himself and knocking down a wing of the white house in order to build a giant ballroom"

I dunno I feel like staggering levels of corruption could still be an effective campaign message

Whether he gets paid will ultimately be up to DOJ's second-in-command, who was recently his personal lawyer.
