The @mobotgarden.bsky.social water lilies may be gone for 2025, but you can still sniff the flower's fragrance in #SmellingTheBouquet @mobotmuseum.bsky.social! Nymphaea caerulea, the sacred blue water lily of the Nile, is a diurnal water that is fragrant with waxy and green floral notes.

Upscaling old videos is not the worst thing in the world, but to get anything half-decent you absolutely need to fine-tune a lot of settings.
There's no way YouTube will do that, and will instead brute force everything into waxy shit.

Youtube has announced that all low-res videos (i.e. older ones) are to be automatically AI upscaled to HD.
Creators can opt-out on a per video basis (but the channel may be long abandoned).
When researching props or behind the scenes, old videos are useful, but not if upscaling produces artefacts.

I think some people must hate waxy textures or have a cilantroesque gene that makes carnauba wax taste bad or something.
I don't have a problem with it, to me candy corn is a great example of an "alright" candy. It's neither the best nor the worst.

Quiet leaves
Rey's favorite color is green
Green quiet leaves
Oh my
"She loved the foliage, the way rain collected on broad waxy leaves, the scent of loamy soil\. Green, she had decided—the color of jungles and forests and grass and life—was her favorite."

The Yellow-rumped Warbler is a small songbird that can be found across most of North America.
It is one of the most common warbler species and is known for its ability to digest waxy fruits, such as those from the wax myrtle tree, which allows it to winter further north than other warblers.

My “secret” Greek lemon potatoes:
- 2 lbs waxy potatoes, mandolined
- 1/3c olive oil
- 1/3c fresh lemon juice
- 2T dried oregano
- 2T salt
Layer in a pan, cover with foil, 30 minutes at 450. Uncover for another 30ish until browned to your delight. These potatoes are so good they’ve caused FIGHTS.

ok these are kinda low key fire, I even liked the orange flavor. they are basically chewy nerds with different flavors mixed together, they are not really waxy like traditional candy corn. they are also kinda sour at the end. pretty solid I say 8.5/10, just wish the flavors distributed evenly.

Our last “Healthy Harvest” Monday features Florida-Friendly herbs. They add a pop of flavor to any dish, and their unmistakable scents make herbs an ideal choice for sensory gardens too. More in this Ask IFAS pub co-authored by our statewide coordinator Wendy Wilber: buff.ly/zON0gkV.

Just leant against the window wall to peer out and came away covered from chest to foot in crumbling green residue, some mix of lichen dust, cobweb and mould. Also not loving that green figurine. Sure it wasn't there before. Maybe

but the end product is still recognizable, even if i'm using red waxy potatoes instead of the yellowish crispy asian ones
this isn't so much a matter of gatekeeping as it is utter confusion. it's like when i was first confronted with "asian wonton salad" and couldn't figure out what made it "asian"

Stop pretending that humans are not the top predators. We altered the balance so we are responsible for managing it. I do not eat beef, it is the most damaging meat source in our environment. That waxy fat clogs your arteries and we all pay for the higher health care costs. Ranching = deforestation

Client just sent. The best part: this wall used to bounce reflective heat onto the neighborhood/house. Now it’s bird nest habitat, pollinator food in the hottest months of the year (Oct/Nov), when ALL pollinators starve plus hand-size gorgeous flowers and Alata passionfruit! 🌱 Climate gardening!
