In Aug-Sep 2020, thousands of migrating birds were found dead in the SW US. Cause? “Compound climate extremes” had pounded the birds until they expired. Climate change increases the threats migrating birds face: heatwaves, storms, droughts, wildfires, etc.: therevelator.org/weather-whip... #birds 🌎

Can we help birds and other species adapt to the evolving threat of compound climate extremes?

Hi Darren, great interview. Will you and the rest of your cabinet consider boycotting X, and permanently migrating here?

Like: CBP agents already famously named migrating people "tonks" after the sound made when they smash their heads with their tactical flashlights. They already gleefully did photoshoots of slicing open jugs of water in the desert

They already hired serial killers

@paxlusitanica.bsky.social - looks like some rare Ukrainian birds migrating north tonight.

Here's hoping they're going for Kirishi... Or Ust-Luga / Primorsk. 🤞

Watched a video on the health impacts of environmental infrasound and have been thinking about how miserably loud the city is. After almost a month out at the lake in September where the loudest noises are the migrating geese, it's stunning how loud it is even in the middle of the night.

New video! This is a Grimace audio YTP I started before migrating to a stronger PC, when my laptop was at its deathbed and couldn't run Premiere. I've re-rendered it in 2K to prevent quality drops!

There'll be an Azumanga Daioh radio drama YTP on the horizon too!

A 10-year old chart that already had the whole story, even though in most places, most of the crisis has developed in the following decade.
If your avg rent/income is high even with higher incomes, the high incomes are from poor families migrating away. Failure, not success.

i know the scientific illiteracy is second place behind the moral terribleness for worst thing here, but "there's actually secretly evolutionary differences in this cartoonishly young species that only started migrating 100,000ish years ago" makes me want to rip my hair out
apropos james watson’s death i had an idle thought today about how stupid race/iq stuff sounds. “buh if your skin is darker you are biologically less smart” is a thing only a dumbass can believe
