'That ability to cover up if there have been mistakes made by the security services is still there'

Labour MP Ian Byrne says it will 'break his heart' to vote against the proposed Hillsborough Law, unless changes are made to ensure it fully applies to MI5, MI6 and GCHQ

Time for GCHQ to give him a call, just in case?

Firing and/or internment for all those involved in choosing AWS as a cloud platform for GCHQ
This opens up wider questions about how far the UK and Canada in the 5 eyes intel sharing framework as well as other former allies of the United States can still provide the Americans with any sensitive intelligence information at all

NORAD is completely integrated. interangency teams across sigint are not unusual or like…GCHQ (probably) ran MUSCULAR program for secret court legal reasons. There’s nsa analyists parked in New Zealand and Canadian spooks at Fort Meade. and then there’s systems integration and intel sharing too

Erm, it's called GCHQ

I can remember regularly having Americans from Maryland in class at School. GCHQ was nearby. It does raise questions over those secondments.

The #Trump Regime is absolutely clueless how pissed the Europeans are, nor how pissed they can get. Especially the French! I would take a bet, that these Days there where several Phonecalls to the SDECE, the pet.dk/en and GCHQ to look "what do we have about the #EpsteinFiles"!

What special powers do the NSA, GCHQ, FivEyes etc have to crack it any more than just some bloke social engineering people? It’s an open source project, inspectable by everyone. It has no known back doors and if there are any they’d compromise just as many people from these agencies if they used it.

Reassuring news here for anyone worried that the security services have free rein to run all kinds of weird and disastrous operations within the country, and don’t even bother to pretend that they are accountable to anyone.

I've got very little specialist knowledge here - but I've never seen anyone who does worry about kill switches (as compared to wider supply chain/maintenance issued)

Software wise - as I understand it theyre cross-NATO systems which thr US also runs and the same would apply to GCHQ

Given there are 40 US military establishments in EU alone with some 85k personnel, it should not be onerous. Would certainly free up much needed land/accommodation. They can also vacate their plush NATO and SHAPE offices. They also have offices at GCHQ and they should also go

I’m convinced the BBC Sounds app is some sort of cognitive test. If you manage to find what you’re looking for you get recruited by GCHQ.

looks like shit w all that parking lot. should be gardens, big housing and shop buildings, some parking structures i guess, other shit

Wasn't it UK's GCHQ who, with NSA tools, spied on EU leaders and pwned BICS.

A bit later, Brexit 's Leave was also a first - as far as we know - for Cambridge Analytica & Meta to convincingly nudge electorate during political campaigns. Like Trump's first election.

What do you think EU should do?

He’s just a racist libertarians turned rw ghoul under Obama bc he got mad how his husband got treated (arrested in heathrow bc he was flying international with a hard drive with gchq and nsa employees names on an incorrectly encrypted drive, the key was stored on the unencrypted partition)

GCHQ punches far above its weight in technical capacity. If I were the NSA, I would advise very strongly against pissing them off.

The GCHQ code breaker died and was buried in a sealed vault because he did not want to be decrypted

Too late: GCHQ and NSA work on 6 degrees of separation. By replying to this (theoretical) thread, you placed yourself just 1 degree of separation away, so very much on a watch list 😂😂😂

Trying to reverse image search (one of the great features of Google in recent years) on an image I know to be a mundane Edinburgh Corporation electrical transformer room, to try and find an original source for it, Google now instead confidently tells me this is an image of the control room in GCHQ 🤦‍♂️

“Arrestingly well-researched and rich in biographical detail, this remarkable book reveals that America’s top spies believed in social science and hoped universities could rescue the early CIA from intelligence failure.” —Richard Aldrich, author of GCHQ: The Uncensored Story.
