If you're a leftist and you can't think of what you might do with a mass, directionless show of dissatisfaction...boy, I just don't know

I remain surprised at the amount of (self-described) avowed, hardcore leftists who see the No Kings stuff as directionless shows of dissatisfaction and don't see it as an *enormous* opportunity!

But under Biden, we entered a reactionary moment in which a coterie of reactionary centrists (many of whom became part of the far-right “tech right” Yarvin set) used public dissatisfaction with COVID restrictions to manufacture a backlash against the progress of the Long Obama Era (2006 - 2021).

once you've dealt with the more stark ways we get clocked it's likely that the feeling of dissatisfaction you struggle with is actually the same yoke of beauty standards that cis women deal with. you are in the river

3. No Surprises

Described by Thom as a fucked-up nursery rhyme, it took inspiration from “Pet Sounds” and was intended to provide comfort after the claustrophobic “Climbing Up The Walls”. Comfort? This song conveys nothing but dissatisfaction with the social and political order 😂

Much like Trump administration interpreted 2024 angst about inflation as a mandate for MAGA authoritarianism, Biden administration interpreted 2020 Covid dissatisfaction as a mandate for rejuvenating the soul of America and pretending 2016 was an aberration.

The global satisfaction of a workforce that is struggling with a change is always valid information but it's a noisy measure that taps into a lot and dissatisfaction is a dangerous thing to make your enemy. For instance, male workforces are globally dissatisfied when women enter the field.
In one of my brief papers (tough page limit and hard reference limit for this outlet!) we critique the idea of using Satisfaction in particular, which is a very noisy measure that can easily represent a tyranny of the majority opinion vs psychological mechanisms

Reform UK councillor Cameron Anderson said voters would "now feel a great sense of dissatisfaction and injustice".

A bit rich from the party parading their own defectors around and refusing any calls for a by-election?

Feels to me as though this is almost the last-chance saloon for Starmer and Labour. If Starmer doesn't understand *why* there's so much dissatisfaction, and doesn't change the steer of the Labour Party away from the xenophobic authoritarianism they're currently pushing, the party won't survive.

A critical mass of peeps have to decide to strike not be told. the US is too globalized to be effected by individual strikes: Instead local organized ones provide impact that targets local trouble and shows unified dissatisfaction. All while building further infrastructure for future action.

My basic political theory has somewhat recently become, “we all just wanna be left alone, man,” and the more the current administration continues to be in people’s business occupying cities (let alone murdering people), the more I think you’ll see active dissatisfaction.
