I don't know if you're old enough to remember a comedian named George Carlin, but he TOTALLY got it. He wasn't just a comedian; he was a truth teller.

Watching The Prince of Tides.

1) George Carlin is great in a small role.

2) I remember reading the book during a difficult time in my first marriage.

3) I also had three young daughters, so I feel a connection with Tom.

4) I also found someone I loved very much, but it didn't last.

Another long night from aching sadness in my soul, so I turned to the person who always just go it. If only I could back in time & sit with George Carlin & Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Then, the only one missing at my dream table would be the Dali Lama. Can't blame a girl for dreaming in times like this...

Stopped at the library to pick up two books for the a Resident Retiree, and found this gem on the New Books shelf for myself—already well into it and am having flashbacks to my teen years. LOVED this album then and now, and Thunder Road is the best rock song EVER.

Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? They never mention that part to us, do they? 🔥

I'd love to say George Carlin made me an atheist that's distrustful of the government, but I was already going that way by the time he started really getting into that kinda stuff.

Which is why we ended up with a 2-party system. Carlin saw this coming back in his time and has some rants about it that remain relevant. I think we need to just lean more into anarchy a bit.

(which means no sole leader. rules still exist in an anarchy)

It's kinda like that George Carlin joke about swimming ("swimming isn't recreation, it's a way to KEEP FROM DROWNING!"), only it applies to ski lifts

I get the feeling they were warning us of the shape of things to come through their work. Either that or they were the barrier preventing the world today.
John, Bill, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Robin Williams, Joan Rivers for a start would have had a field day.

It’s interesting how everyone says the party has changed, yet George Carlin, Frank Zappa, and plain ol’ girls like me have recognized the Gang Of Pedos as exactly who they are for decades. 🤔
