immigrants taking all the good jobs and lowering the wage offerings. But they do not blame the greedy oligarchs that play a bigger role in the economic woes of workers now. Trickle down never worked. Union busting and deregulation is a big threat but workers worry more about immigrants.

And another part is haves vs. Have lots too. Economic uncertainty makes people wonder about their ability to work for a decent living and care for their loved ones. People blame diversity policies for their not being able to get a decent living. They worry about

A ton of the reason for agita over immigration is racism, though. It's not "How do we manage movements of people in a humane way?" it's "How do we keep Those People(tm) from coming here with their nasty foreign ways?"
