This is basically the story of any feminine, though of particular note trans feminine, art which even remotely brushes up against things which men think of as old boys clubs. Androcentrism, bad faith, transmisogyny (above and beyond even the run of the mill) and exclusionary erasure are the norm.

I love this question. Lots of folks discuss actor-directors (Tubi even has a category) but actor-writers get overlooked. By which I mean folks very good at both, like Joel Edgerton or Macon Blair. (Sorry for the androcentrism.) We should make a list.

For way too many people women's lives and suffering only exist to fit in a narrative revolving around men. They cannot exist in and of themselves, and this is a real issue on the left too, androcentrism is such a shame.

a lot of people are assuming foul play, but I want folks to realize just how much surviving sexual abuse increases the chance of suicide and other awful things that prematurely end one's life.

Anthropology is the discipline that developed such models to a level of refinement that it is truly the equivalent of calculus in mathematics. But feminist critiques of the androcentrism of the classic models, and doubts coming from scholars looking at practice vs rule shifted our views. 4/

Under these laws, and for the purposes of law, an intersex person was seen as a man if they had sex as a man, a woman if they had sex as a woman, and man if they had sex as both (because androcentrism). But this clearly shows their agency and that sex wasn't immutable. How could it be if intersex...

We can't really blame Women. AndroCentrism is a core part of our society and Women get indoctrinated with it since their childhood. Which makes them put Men above them, put Men's needs, demands everything above their own. This results in various things, notably lack of autonomy and self-respect.
