Part of the Problem is that people want a whistleblower martyr but when the Inevitable Fate of Whistleblowers hits that person like a freight train at full speed it becomes a lot more Common to blame nebulous hitmen than "Wow, fucking sucks trying to rebuild your life in your 30/40s huh"

There's this extremely strange, weirdly nebulous stabbed in the back narrative forming around, the War on Terror I guess?? That blames "politicians" a.k.a. Democratic women for everything

All is yet chaos, but, slowly, the apparitions change into living flesh, the shimmering mists take shape, and—who knows?—something may be born of the clash of nebulous ideas.

Hate when someone makes me see two sides of an argument. Like, ugh, my righteous anger only operates on seeing the guy I hate as less than human, and more like a nebulous creature of evil. Stop making me empathize with them!

I don’t know. Is remembering that housing, healthcare and education used to be affordable nostalgia? Is a deliberate effort on the part of wealthy people to change that dynamic to enrich themselves ‘nebulous’? Or are you just spewing nonsense?

Having concrete, reasonable asks is (likely) a large contributor to why Dems keep having higher approval during shutdowns. If they asked for nebulous things, or for too much, they'd be viewed as more unreasonable.

2. WEB Dubois called this “the psychological wages of whiteness.” By voting for Trump, lots of Americans, and not just white ones, thought they were giving themselves a pay raise of some nebulous sort.

My predictions for COP30
1. Several days of promising that 1.5C is not dead
2. Huge panic when discovered there is nothing new to announce
3. Final communique - 2 days late - full of nebulous promises, and maybe a vague pledge to eventually transition away from fossil fuels

His gaze landed on Claire before him, hanging back with Murtagh to give him a moment with the children, and that nebulous thing within him — he thought it might be his very soul — disquieted by the distance between them…finally settled.

MA asks grew exponentially this month & everyone who wants to help went straight to institutions or food banks.
Now folks are hungry & out of meds. Waiting for nebulous SNAP isnt an option.

Disappointed about the Mayoral race. It's been hard to break through to folks when the Mayor and media align to blame some sort of nebulous "dysfunction" on problems that are clearly Frey's alone.

… fuck, warrior culture space lions who like their bouts of athleticism as much as they indulge in discussions of philosophy and analysis

Sure, as an artist you deal with problems like "the hands look fucked up" or "the proportions feel off"
But also with nebulous shit like "their eyes don't look kind enough" where there isn't a clear formula for a fix, or is it just in your head AAAAAAA
Ahem
Sorry I'm in rendering hell 😵💫

When I was younger I occasionally had this experience where work would send me to a public event On Someone's Behalf and I didnt understand that they want me to do some sort of nebulous schmoozing for some sort of nebulous purpose so I would sort of hover around the edges and eat the food

Reasons were nebulous why this particular store closed but we know, don't we?

Theraputic vibes of various flavors, trying to capture whatever the hell depression/CPTSD feels like to me cause it’s quite nebulous some days where words just don’t make the cut. It is a journey of healing despite it all, but god it’s exhausting

This is one of several related "messaging" issues that bedevils our politics.
Centrists and the left *both* often talk as if one magic policy platform will solve the electoral woes of Dems and it's just never been that simple. It's a comms issue. It's vibes. It's a nebulous mood.

something that the dems have always struggled with (for at least 15 years now) is that the public doesn't believe the GOP is actually like that, it's always a "negotiating tactic" or "just red meat for the base", even if it's literally written GOP platform stuff. anyways:
"the best explanation for 2025 is that voters didn’t know what they were getting with Trump 2.0 last November, but now they do — and they don’t like it." www.gelliottmorris.com/p/seven-data...

For a while housing opponents believed that supply and demand doesn't apply to housing because of nebulous reasons they were never able to explain.
Now that rents are dropping, they are trying to argue that only demand affects housing, not supply.
Increasingly absurd

One thing about the Minneapolis mayoral race is that the challengers basically ended up running a nebulous Anyone But Frey campaign. People in NY (clearly) HATED Cuomo but Mamdani still had run that primary like it was FPTP and not RCV.

I continue to be dumbfounded that a dude who had a brain altering stroke is used as proof of anything. Clear and obvious difference in behavior pre- and post- is waved away for a nebulous we should have seen it coming. People who say we could have predicted his change are lying.
i think an especially depressing part of this whole saga is that "we need to win primaries so establishment dems are replaced by true progressives" is a thing we've done before but one of the progressives we worked hard to install over the establishment pick was fetterman

we have a dysfunctional immigration politics because there's this large population that are sorta-kinda are allowed to be here, maybe, if they keep their heads down, and we debate about how nice we should treat them based on a constantly shifting set of nebulous criteria. it's calvinball from hell.
