I guess it wouldn't meet the definition of genocide the same way but having read the John Ashton Megrahi book cover to cover (and the Paul Foot report, countless Ian Bell articles etc) I'd say the same 100% applies re the truth about Lockerbie too.

But Gadaffi's deid now, so that's all fine obvs 🙄

was determined the bombing was the work of two men, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi and Lamin Khalifah Fhimah, who were backed by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Libyan involvement was only formally admitted in 2003. The bombing was conducted as

I don't even dislike Kenny. I used to respect him over the Megrahi release, but let's face it. He has all the charisma of an aspidistra.

My money is on getting returned to Ireland for hospice and doing an Al Megrahi and living for another couple of years. Because he's a cunt

Been watching the Pan Am thing and hearing Megrahi in a Scottish accent just makes him sound like a no-nonsense Morton centre-back from the 80’s.

Just finished watching two recent shows about the Lockerbie bombing. One on Netflix and the other from the BBC.
The Netflix one makes it seem like al-Megrahi was a victim, while the BBC one’s totally convinced he was one of the bombers.
There are still loads of unanswered questions between the two!!

I saw it had good reviews, felt though that having read the Private Eye reports about al-Megrahi & safety of his conviction that it might seem futile. When actually I should probably just watch it as a good drama about what happened there and then

Just finished #TheBombingOfFlightPanAm103
Excellent series.
Unbelievable that #Megrahi was only given a sentence of 20 years.
Remember it happening so clearly.

It's always a bad sign when you publish a quote or an article from Sikora. I'm old enough to remember when the Telegraph reported that he offered a dodgy diagnosis for cash from Libya to Abdelbaset al-Megrahi. A few years later he was writing for them, and now look at where they're at.

Megrahi however, was found guilty and two appeals upheld that conviction. 37 years after Lockerbie, the controversy surrounding the deadliest terror attack in British history remains.

The trial judges accepted evidence that it was part of an MST-13 bomb timer sold to Libya by MEBO, a Swiss firm with connections to Megrahi. But the British government used public interest immunity certificates to prevent disclosures implicating Iran and the PLFP-GC.

…saying the identification of Megrahi was just one part of the overall picture. The single most important piece of evidence was a thumbnail-sized fragment of circuit board, embedded in the neck band of a shirt from the suitcase that held the bomb.

The SCCRC concluded therr was no reasonable basis for finding that Megrahi bought clothes in Malta, undermining a cornerstone of the prosecution case. The case was sent back to the courts but Megrahi abandoned his appeal after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Megrahi lost his first appeal against his conviction in 2002 but won a second after a four-year investigation by the independent Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission.
The SCCRC found no proper basis in allegations that investigators manipulated, altered or fabricated evidence against Megrahi.

Oh, look who’s crawled out from under a rock and got a USA gig… Funnily enough was thinking about charlatans and grifters early while watching a programme about Lockerbie, which obviously discussed the release of Megrahi.
If the GMC had actually done its job properly & struck off Aseem Malhotra for his anti-vaccine scaremongering, we might not be in this situation. But here we are, as he carves a new career for himself in the States. Great work, GMC.
