You don’t have to agree with the protests today. But millions of Americans protesting peacefully across the country, with early reports indicating this could be the largest protest in U.S. history, is powerful. And most importantly — American at its core.

God bless America 🇺🇸

You think American democracy is over?…there are more of us than them…maybe you didn’t notice the biggest protests in SUPPORT of American democracy in history going on outside your window…to quote a great man, “What? Over? Did you say ‘over’? Nothing is over until we decide it is!”- Bluto.

Curious where this takes us. I’m a capitalist in the style of the US after WW2. Circa 1940s/50s.

Some would say when America was great.

Do you know enough about US history to even have a discussion about this?

Journalism, much like Wikipedia and literally every human institution in all of history, will always have a bias problem. That’s not what attacks on it by Elon Musk or his ilk are about.

When Walmart enacted the biggest pay raise in history, it destroyed $21.5 billion in market value. Today, it credits the moves with its gains.

Military life is a whole nother world. You are isolated, broken down and “reeducated” during boot camp and a school training. Most lack basic education skills such as critical thinking and history lessons that haven’t been white washed. It’s real easy to be indoctrinated when everyone is the same

Many have criticized the NoKings protests as watered down and liberal. That's a fair appraisal, but we should not pass judgement until these crowds are confronted. What will they do when they see ICE or face repression? This is what's important and where history will be made.

This very fact does not forecast a successful conclusion to this era. An organized opposition must arise to create better equality or history shows it will be very tough for a long time.
CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1965: 20-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1990: 75-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio today: 280-to-1

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.

Did you play the first one too, Blue?

I was in on the ground floor of American's KS of an Alice3 game, but it fell through thanks to EA. There were a lot of discussions about game history in correlation to the first 2 games; where the story should and could go. 2 was dark. 3 would have been darker.

History has a long memory for nodders. It remembers the men in tailored suits who didn't shout or shoot, who merely inclined their heads while power unstitched the law. They were the ones who "tempered the excesses," who told themselves that obedience was prudence
