That's the thing the higher-ups couldn't get (and still don't):
By giving up jobs to AI, you aren't replacing a worker with free labour: You're paying extra hours for a really really bad freelancer that you have to micromanage to death.

One of the best consequences of being a self-employed freelancer is that I wake when I want (9 or 10 am currently) and nap when I’m sleepy. I am healthier and happier.
Sleep is a biological necessity, and sleep deprivation has real physical, psychological, and social consequences that need to be taken seriously. The way our society treats it as slothful to sleep according to natural rhythms (including midday naps and variant chronotypes like night owls) is evil.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

It is my favorite day of the week #RandomGameSaturday and today is Freelancer on the PC!
For me it was the perfect combination of accessible flight and combat, trading and travel, expiration and discovery. It was a 2000s scifi show in plot and vibe in the best way.

ive seen AI defended cos it means some freelancer won't have to spend days editing a football player onto a promotional pepsi label. Unforch, all it does is mean that someone in-house has to do that after several failed midjourney attempts & the freelancer doesnt get hired

Generally on Furman, it's absolutely fair he as a freelancer takes whatever gigs he can get (and his career basically is 98% Things Aimed At Guys In Their 40s Who Have A Soft Spot For Him, even his original properties), but it's wild Transformers rights holders keep treating him as a default.
