It continues to tell you everything you need to know about British politics and media that the only person who has ever had to apologise for Nigel Farage's long history of inflammatory and racist comments, is a journalist who accurately reported them as such

Oh. Cool. Just as the President is using every power he can to suppress dissent and stifle speech, @whitehouse.senate.gov and the @judiciarydems.senate.gov are trying to hand Trump a new tool to suppress speech online.

What a joke.

Huh. It's almost like when institutions stand up to that spineless coward fascist, he loses and folds. I sure wish more institutions would take note of that.

She should work for private companies… get out of public service if she hates it so much.
Smith finally said it out loud...

She doesn't believe that government should be providing any services to Albertans, she believes that private companies should be used universally to provide services.

Faith groups should take care of the vulnerable.

Wait - what's happening with Section 230 now? Ominous feeling with whatever the Sen Dems are doing - it'll make it go from bad to worse.

One under-appreciated part of this: note the bit below about “and their dependents.”

Under the Trump admin’s new policy, dependent children of visa applicants are not allowed to have their social media set to private during the entire visa process. They MUST make their social media public.

VIA Rail is obviously being cheap (or is so economically non-viable that it's resorting to this). This is just terrible.
Not sure those unfamiliar with the geography of Eastern Ontario appreciate how absurd it is Via forced passengers to sleep overnight at the station in Brockville

Brockville is only an hour and a half drive from Ottawa. Via couldn’t get buses to shuttle them back? How is there no contingency plan?

This was my reaction. I grew up in Brockville and it’s a real easy drive to Ottawa. Keeping the passengers on the train overnight is awful.

This is a wild, wild story and suggests that a top DOD official is coordinating with the Pizzagate guy to dox a reporter and his family, including his in-laws.
1/ MUST READ: @dfriedman.bsky.social asked the Pentagon about a Goodreads page linked to the email of a top official that featured pornographic books. Then, MAGA influencer—and newly minted member of DOD press corps—Jack Posobiec threatened to smear him.

Quite the coincidence!

I think notwithstanding clause should require more political capital to pass.

If they want to fuck fundamental principles in the nation’s constitution… they should have to get it pass a 2/3 majority referendum or something?

A small group of politicians can’t just make such sweeping changes.
