Wrapping up last full day in Dublin… the city had so many festive activities… put Vancouver and its surrounding municipalities to utter shame.
St Patrick’s Park, behind the St Patrick’s cathedral. Stokerland, a part of a festival celebrating Halloween and Bram Stoker is wrapping up. There is a beige and pink tent top in the foreground. Behind them, there is a small merry-go-around besides a small birdbath. Further to the right, there is a big red tent. And on in the back and in front of the cathedral, there are a few food trucks.

Why it was so unsettling when MP clapped for a CK eulogy.

It's a dark and unsettling time when hate speech, racism, and discrimination are dressed up as "freedom of speech," when exclusion is rebranded as "personal beliefs" and when dehumanisation is excused as "just an opinion." The line between freedom of speech and hate speech is not fine at all, it is drawn distincitvely between respect and harm. True freedom is only possible when it does not come at the expense of another person's safety, dignity, or humanity.

… sending condolences to the family of Charlie Kirk. What happened is absolutely horrific. Our core values stem from treasuring all life, furry friend's and humans alike. Absolutely nobody deserves to have violence inflicted upon them because of opposing views. Sending healing thoughts and prayers to those that need them at this time. No matter where you are on the political spectrum, violence is absolutely not the answer.

Read about this Canadian Screen Industry Statement of Values. So went to check out what it is + who signed it.

So... like... does this not look tone deaf to anyone else?

Here’s a paragraph to note…
TLDR: turn out for a byelection in 2017 was 11% even though they hoped for 20%.
There were total of 442, 192 individuals that were eligible to vote in the 201/ by-election. Of this total, 48,645 actually voted. This represents a voter turnout of 10.99%. The turnout was notably less than the 20% turnout as hoped for by-election staff. However, a review of other municipal by-elections, including the Vancouver by-election held in 1992, indicate that a 10% turnout is typical for a by-election. The breakdown of ballots cast is as follows: Voting Opportunity Advance Voting: 4,174 Mail Voting: 330 Voting Day: 44,141 Total: 48,645

When I was younger, someone told me that it's hard to argue in Japanese because the verb goes to the end. (So you are force to hear the whole sentence first before you response.)

I thought grammar can be so elegant that way.

David posted, "can someone make a realtime voice-to-voice language translation ai yet? pls? what are we waiting for?" @fluopoika reply said, "we're waiting for the end of the sentence." And attached a photo that illustrate the difference between Japanese and English grammar structure. The photo shows that Japanese grammar structure puts the main verb of the sentence in the end, whereas the English has the verb near the beginning of the sentence.
