The notion that this is what "limited government" looks like - armed masked men accosting people in the streets, using the army to bully state and local authorities, arbitrary tariffs determining who you can buy from, the President setting taxes and spending by edict without Congress - is absurd.

For 300 years, English and British identities blended and merged together in such a way that, to all intents and purposes, when a lot of English people try to visualise their flag they might instinctively think of a Union flag. That's why the fash could take SGC: it was being used for nothing else.
You can! To be totally honest even the fash's appropriation of the English flag doesn't inherently have anything to do with /who England is/ and more just to do with the fact that it was a symbol left by the wayside that no one was using for much
