According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump’s 2025 pardons flow through paid intermediaries, bypassing DOJ review. A direct quid pro quo would be bribery. Even without it, selling access to clemency is an abuse of Article II power and plainly impeachable conduct under the Constitution.
Inside the New Fast Track to a Presidential Pardon
Even some of the president’s closest advisers have been surprised by a number of the recent series of pardons.

Thanks to @climatologist49.bsky.social for calculating the stats and generating the maps that tell the incredible story of how Christmas 2025 was - by far - the warmest Christmas on record. Some additional details and rather incredible factoids here: tinyurl.com/amvyycfc
Lower 48 has its warmest Christmas Day on record by a significant margin
Northeast remains the lone holdout and will experience a decent winter storm the next 36 hours.

Absolutely insane what s going on in USA:
Monthly records pulverized by hundreds in over a dozen States with unbelievable margins:
For example Salt Lake City UT Minimum of 59F is SEVEN degrees F higher than the previous monthly record.

Thousands of records coming next days...

First December daily record low in 30 years...craziness.
Juneau, AK, broke their daily record low temperature yesterday with a reading of -6F (and have at least tied the record low for today of -5F). This is the first December record low for the Juneau Intl Airport in 30 years (Dec 9, 1995). @alaskawx.bsky.social

Seems normal for late December in Colorado, right?
IMPORTANT: NWS Boulder just issued a rare "Particularly Dangerous Situation" (PDS) Fire Weather Warning for Boulder, Hwy 93, and the Boulder + northern JeffCo foothills for tomorrow.

Winds: 85-110 mph. Bone dry.

This is a Fire Weather Warning with an exclamation point.

A considerable number of ensemble members predict strong wind gusts (60+ mph) along the Bay Area coastline late Dec. 23 / early Dec. 24. The pattern is favorable for a low-pressure system deepening upon landfall. Could even reach bombogenesis status (>=18mb drop in 24 hours). #CAwx

For those that care about continued improvement in weather forecasting and modeling, speaking out about the NCAR situation is important. The NOAA issues earlier this year were troubling but budgetary. This is more sinister in nature. What you can do: agu.quorum.us/campaign/151...
Save NCAR from being dismantled today!
The Trump Administration has vowed to dissolve the center that provides critical extreme weather and climate data for our nation.

NSF is about to dismantle NCAR at Russell Vought's direction to protect the fossil fuel industry. It's hard to communicate just how much NCAR does, so let's take a look: I've never worked at NCAR, and I've worked with NCAR researchers once ever. What scientific discoveries has NCAR made possible? 👇
