this is apparently Not A Good Week for me/my loved ones:

- pet death
- COVID exposure
- multiple cars getting stuck
- massive depressive episode

massively rude for these all to stack up on top of each other. seems unfair, imo

Obviously the snow makes this a longer shot but does anyone have some spare covid tests + the ability to drop them off in Bancroft?

I just bought this game. As a Muslim I want to see more Muslim characters in games, and not just as targets for some ghoul's murder fantasy. More Muslim characters in cozy games please!

I love books but is reading really doing all that much for you if it hasn't taught you not to characterise systematic societal issues as personal moral failings

It's funny how obviously anti-worker 'you should take leave less often for the sake of the economy' is. Turns out people going on holiday and doing recreational activities is actually kinda important to large parts of our service economy aside from any issues of dignity and ethical behaviour

I think this is spot on.
growing problem for the dems is that their voters want progressive candidates but the party leadership generally doesn't. so there's no structure to identify and vet good progressive candidates until it's too late.
The noisiest Dem primary so far is probably Maine Senate, and here for instance I think it’s useful to see that despite all the bad publicity Platner still appears to be the favorite:

Hello, I live here. If you don’t, please remember that the Minneapolis Police Department killed George Floyd not that long ago, and a lot of others since! These people are not our friends!

This is also why we ask for wool socks! And it's not just about frost bite, don't Google trench foot if you have a sensitive stomach, but trust that wool is a great way to address at least some of that.
Do this locally in your area, too! Waterproof in mittens and boots is key: if fingers and toes get wet, they might not get dry again
We are now also low on snow boots, I think probably 40 pairs went out today!

I am happy to pay $30 a year for USPS Prime, which delivers mail daily to my home
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Great Moments in Immigration Enforcement

"I asked them if they had a judicial warrant. They said they didn't need one. I said yes you do."

Employees then captured video of agents leaving and turning the wrong way on a one way street.

Do the work.
