Was watching a clip from Imitation Game on YT, and almost every user comment was "The British govt still did horrible things to Turing after he helped Britain win the war, purely because he was gay".

It renewed some hope I have in humanity.

In fact you can pick both of those up for $20 as a bundle with our other two games, an adorable block pushing puzzler and an SMB1-like prequel to the gay foxgirl platformer Kitsune Tails itch.io/s/169922/kit...
My contribution to the game difficulty debate is I made an SMB3 style platformer with a mode where dying simply pops you back up immediately on a flying cloud and with cheats beyond that

Just like I made a turn-based roguelike with a mode that gives you infinite lives, which also has a cheat menu

Was teaching my Apex playing buddy how to play Arc Raiders. He didn't really know anything about extraction shooters, so I had to find some way to explain the general flow of the genre.

"okay so....extraction shooters are the exact opposite of a BR."

It helped immensely.

After the release of BF6, I asked my buddy who works in IT the following:

"Is there some reason why Secure Boot isn't on by default when you install Win11? Is there some benefit to not having it on?"

His answer?

"You know dude, that is a good question."

Tim Sweeney believes you are better off just not knowing some things.

"Why stop at AI use? We could have mandatory disclosures for what shampoo brand the developer uses" — Epic boss Tim Sweeney says Steam should ditch its AI generated content disclosure. https://bit.ly/4a193vt

I've watched so much Japanese television that I find this scarily accurate.
Red Letter Media if it were a Japanese variety show

Clerks at stores are always so surprised when I'm friendly and patient, that it makes me wonder how horrible other customers must be. I guess I just don't understand how you can be an adult and be so shitty to people just trying to help you get what you want.

I was so happy when I finally got a boxed copy of Portopia Serial Murder Case when I lived in Osaka. Still one of the coolest parts of my game collection.
Today (11/29) marks the 40th anniversary of the Famicom ver. of classic ADV "The Portopia Serial Murder Case". This version of the game was huge, essentially pioneering the ADV genre on consoles. It notably used a command-driven menu to guide progression due to limited input.

In looking up more resources about the NASA punk aesthetic, I found out that NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab made fictitious travel bureau posters in 2020, and I am in love with them.

If I had disgusting amounts of money, I wouldn't cut corners on AI dubs and genAI art. I'd go all out, and make sure our product was literally the best it could be, its quality untouchable by any of the competition.

Then again, maybe this is why I don't have disgusting amounts of money.

I just fell down a rabbit hole, and now I'm learning about kaktovik numerals. This system is absolutely genius. It's base 20 broken up into base 5 sets, which sounds complicated, but because it's featural, you can divide massive numbers by other large numbers without doing any actual math. It's wild

Tonight I made my first perfectly pan-seared yellowfin tuna steak. Served it on a bed of rice with some soy sauce and chili sauce. It was a simple meal, but I'm so proud of myself.

iirc, in the code for Kero Blaster, the health bar (which is made up of hearts) is referred to in several places as 鳩, which is the Japanese kanji for pigeon, or dove. The kanji can be pronounced as "ha-to", which sounds like heart. :)
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

I'd write. A lot. And make games.
Honest question: If everyone got Universal Basic Income, no strings attached, what would YOU do with it?

The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

Anyone saying that AI disclosures should be removed from Steam is not your friend. They do not want you to know what you're buying. It's no different from saying we shouldn't list Nutritional Facts on food.

I feel like an Assassin's Creed show is ripe for an anthology series. Different eras every season with an overarching Abstergo modern day plot to tie it all together.

Picked up the Unicorn Overlord collector's edition when it came out last year. I played through the demo, but the full version got lost in the mix of other games. Finally sitting down to play the full version. Extremely late to the party, but better late than never, I suppose.

Mom is visiting my cousins in the UK. She just texted me asking if they could call "just to hear my voice". I said "sorry I'm busy"

Nice try, family. Better luck next year.

I have food to cook for thanksgiving, but I'm very tempted to just skip the cooking entirely, because I really don't want to cook.

The good news is that I'm the only one eating this food, so I could do that.

LMAO this whole red shirt gag in Demonschool is so good. Just the funniest kind of obvious foreshadowing.

With the founders packs and Prelude 12 live, I'm excited to hop back into Soulframe and play some more. I love the gameplay, but I do think it still needs a proper hard lock on for controller players. I'm surviving without it for now, but I would appreciate it!
