Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

Scheduling mifepristone largely invalidates the point of the schedule.

Ostensibly, the schedule is meant to monitor drugs *which have the ability to form physical dependence*.

This step makes the schedule a list of drugs that lawmakers dislike for feelings reasons.

Went for a run for the first time since the half marathon I ran last Sunday. Felt good, but definitely a little creaky!

We call on our City and State political leaders and organizations to condemn and forcefully reject these smears. (1/5)

A lot of y’all still don’t get it

ESBL holders can use multiple antibiotics on a single species

So if you have 1 monoculture and 3 antibiotics you can create 3 new beta lactamases

This hospitalization is essentially a mint event for both Carbapenamase and Efflux pumps

Great point about considering the sens/spec of the given scan, in the given patient, at the given time. Those reported in literature are averages… but this particular scan might be better or worse.

But regarding even the pooled “sensitivity of CT for cholecystitis of 94%”…

Thread 🧵 1/
it's sloppy to say that "CT scan has a a sensitivity of 94% and specificity of 59% for cholecystitis"

different patients have varying collections of radiologic signs

radiologists may use varying criteria

so an individual patient's specific scan may have *variable* sensitivity & specificity

I spoke extensively with the Crimson reporter. She understood the strength of the evidence, and it shows.

Odds ratios can be eye-glazing, but let's just say that when 2.5 million kids are studied, and it's still not possible to detect added risk from taking acetaminophen...there's no added risk.
