Whenever we needed to bump eyeball counts we'd run a Top 10 listicle or a Vote For Hottest Chef piece to goose the numbers. I worked for a content farm that gave us bonuses based on clicks. This is not how a real newspaper should function.

Swear to god, ICE could just announce they're leaving a city but not leave and the media will just stop covering that city completely even though ICE never left.

It's what ICE and the media did with LA and they're doing it with Minneapolis too

The mainstream media needs a "political showdown" story angle to ICE or they won't cover it.

What is the red team doing and how is the blue team responding? What are the implications on the midterms or Newsom's or Pritzker's 2028 run?

Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis, ICE raids never slowed down.

The fact that mainstream media stopped covering ICE kidnappings in LA isn't because ICE stopped kidnapping (they didn't)

Or ICE slowed down (they have actually increased their tempo)

Or that resistance to ICE slowed down (it never stopped, it grew)

It's the "political showdown" that stopped.

Here's noted Doomer, uh, Appeals Court Judge Michael Luttig
Luttig: It doesn’t matter what the Supreme Court does from this point forward. For two years, the Supreme Court has authorized the absolute lawlessness and unconstitutional activity of this president.

Elie is right. It is always better to be prepared for something that didn't happen than to be unprepared for something that does. How many people that throw around "doomer" also said SCOTUS would never fold on immunity last year? The point is we don't know what's gonna happen. Better to be ready
Trump and the Republicans are trying to rig the election. That's not being a "doomer," that's acknowledging reality.
Democrats need a coordinated, national response to these coordinated, national attacks. We need an "Elections Czar"

Here’s one idea for a coordinated response to Trump’s coordinated attacks.

quite seriously: AUSAs are going to start filing briefs written with ChatGPT and the sanctions situation is going to be like nothing we’ve ever seen

the number of academics who were in touch with Epstein really puts the (elite) backlash to Title IX's enforcement against sexual violence into perspective.
DiChristina also invited Epstein to attend an editorial meeting for the Scientific American, where she worked as editor-in-chief.

Correspondence from 2010 also showed DiChristina on a guest list for a meeting on “the islands,” though it was not immediately clear what Epstein meant by “islands.”

She wasn't a general assignment AUSA roped into this. If you believe someone who was deporting people before choosing to join the fight to keep people detained during the middle of the ICE occupation was actually trying to fix the problem from the inside, I think you're a little naïve and credulous.

Spanberger is a moderate Democrat who used to work for the C.I.-fucking-A. It should put the actions of Schumer and Jeffries into perspective for everyone. Are they Republicans? Because they sure act like it.

They need to get the fuck out.
NEW: Abigail Spanberger this afternoon ordered that all state agencies leave ICE's 287(g) program.

This means that the state police (and some other agencies) will no longer be empowered to detain and arrest people for ICE.

Big, big move by the governor within weeks of coming into office.
