But, like this bag maker, you will change a very small number of people’s lives forever with the excellence of your craft, and truly, that is a beautiful thing and in fact what we all are seeing and striving for in the new Attention Economy of Respect.

Okay, yes, this is a giant red flag.

*But* it was also my first real Gundam-clone/Mecha anime.

Fun EE inside baseball, the two standards in electrical components are assorted MIL specs, and ISO 26262, the automotive specification.
During the classic mac era, Apple used semiconductors from many different suppliers.

I don't know if the shooting was politically motivated or just another random act of violence in society awash in loose guns, but if they hadn't been there, they wouldn't have been shot.

software is full to the gills with wealthy white guys who only know how to sustain themselves off of trolling, baiting, and grieving other people and it is by no coincidence that a large chunk of them are also openly racist now. this includes this guy, he has admitted to as much.

And it's for the milk run stuff you can't really use a USVs for (which are the real OHP replacements) but imo really need USVs to be optionally manned to actually get early command back because we still won't have enough Connies to open that back up

Lol, lmao.

We're never getting a Burke replacement.

And it most be noted that ban on people moving is immoral. Just totally evil. It is natvitism in miniature and ought, OUGHT, to be rejected.
I genuinely don't get the NIMBY theory of make rent go down. To the extent they have one, it's fantasy: a ban on people moving into the city. The municipal government making rents lower by fiat. It'd be more productive to leave housing policy and become a full-time Wookiepedia editor.
the left nimby crashout bc Zohran actually wants to build more housing is genuinely so funny

Customer service has gotten notably worse.

And the only way I believe it's actually reducing fraud is that they're basically making it not worthwhile in terms of labor-hours.
Also, every service.

Basically every visit to see my mom is 50% working through 2FA systems with her so she can pay utility bills.
We're drowning in passwords & multi-factor authentication & chatbots & "unusually high call volume" & robots ignoring "representative!"

We should think more carefully about how Social Security uses these tools with our parents & grandparents.

One thing that's a very clear trend in my suburban DC town with a strong sense of community is that the highly ideological right-wingers, of which there's been a decent sized influx in the last few years, basically do not (and their kids do not) participate in any established community organizations
I'm not sure how this ends, because the Boy Scouts is very apolitically small-c-conservative and patriotic but it's also mostly run by suburban moms.

I'll remind folks that Trump said some unequivocally unhinged things to an International Scout Jamboree last term.

I would not anticipate improvement.

They also chose *Arizona* Democrats as their target.

Which is a wild choice coming off pissing everyone off by refusing to seat Adelita.
good work guys you picked a fight in which Dems can stand up out of their permanent defensive crouch and go “our guy is a fucking astronaut and you’re an alcoholic tv host”
Gallego to Hegseth: "You will never ever be half the man that Sen. Kelly is. You, sir, are a coward. And the fact that you are following this order from the president shows how big of a coward you are. I can't wait until you are no longer the secretary of defense."

To my mind, I think the core of the problem is that greater - if still imperfect - gender equality allowed women access to more 'life scripts' as it were, but society mostly still presents men with just one script and that script poorly and incompletely.

So some men are fine and many are adrift.

Not because Senate Democrats drew a line.

Hear me out: Wildly complex time travel conspiracy theory but it’s just the same troubled weirdo lone marksman caught in a loop
We all saw one self-motivated guy with a rifle get a shot off at Trump at a rally in 2024. Is it really so hard to believe that one self-motivated guy with a rifle killed JFK in 1963?

*points at algorithm from the 70s*

"AI"
y'know, if tech companies weren't so fired up to call every single thing "AI" it would be a lot easier to distinguish "ML spam filter that is well-sandboxed and tuned on your emails" from "giant context and IP-eroding foundation model that makes people paranoid and unhappy"
since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.

something i'll note is that if nuzzi ran catch-and-kill ops for rfk jr and lizza knew this prior to him being appointed as HHS, and instead of telling anyone, he decided to save it for his substack long after rfk jr had made communicable disease into federal policy, that's completely fucked
