In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

1. This short thread is about the issue that dominates almost every aspect of politics, and causes or exacerbates most of our problems: the extreme wealth of a small number of people. Here’s the amazing thing: almost the entire political class aligns with the ultra-rich against the rest. 🧵1/10

I cried so many times today.

Thinking about striking Minnesota, the violence they’re facing, we’re all facing.

Seeing all the Palestinian flags & how people finally see the connections.

Seeing workers in shop windows, nail salons, shops, cheer us on.

Hope in the horror.
Back at it. No ICE, no KKK, no fascist USA.

Huge numbers, cops sparse.

Marching now from union square

I'm not one for false optimism. But what I witnessed today in Minneapolis was tremendous, both in scale and exuberance. It was a stunning answer to the federal assault on Minnesota, a show of solidarity that gives us something to hold on to during times that are unforgiving.

Extreme cold didn't stop the shutdown on Friday as some 100 faith leaders were arrested, residents stayed home from work, and an estimated 50,000 or more marched through downtown Minneapolis.

🇺🇸 Temperatures in the upper-midwest were well below zero today, but the people in Minnesota braved the frigid cold, and showed up to fight for ALL OF US.

🇺🇸 I hear a lot of people saying we aren't doing enough to fight Trump's fascism. Well, go tell that to the patriots in Minnesota.

The United States government used armed thugs to kidnap a 5-year-old child off an American street, separate him from his dad, traffic him to another state, and sling him into a scary & unsafe concentration camp.

"This is not who we are!!!"

Yes, unfortunately, it now is.
Here’s the report from KARE. The boy is five-year-old Liam Ramos.

I'm not saying Air Force One didn't have a "minor electrical issue" that forced it to turn around, but I am saying that would be unprecedented for a highly advanced piece of machinery that's supposedly equipped to be a flying command-and-control center during a nuclear war. Odd.

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.
