On this #randomgamesaturday, here's Technomage: Return of Eternity, a German-developed PAL exclusive action RPG with fairly cursed character art. I've never played it, but saw a bit of a friend playing it on release back in high school. And it stuck with me to the point where I had to buy.

Luminicity, a late game level, starts with a skeleton firing a rocket launcher at you as soon as the level loads. And while the level is one of the easier ones and you can clear it without dying no problem with practice, I think that just sums up the Skeleton Warriors experience so beautifully.
Done. Fuck this game, never again.

The more I play of this, the more I think it has just about the worst bonus stages I've ever seen in a game. Not in terms of how they actually play, as they're basic but vaguely vibe-y jetbike sections that break up the pace okay. But their function within the game is galaxy brain nonsense.
My brain: "Elly, depression is absolutely kicking our ass today. Why are we playing Skeleton Warriors for Sega Saturn?"
Me: "If we finish it, it might cheer us up a bit."
Brain: "And if we don't?"
Me: "Can't exactly get any worse."
Brain: "...fuck it, fire up the Saturn."
Me: "If we finish it, it might cheer us up a bit."
Brain: "And if we don't?"
Me: "Can't exactly get any worse."
