Idk whether voting for an awful person makes you weird, but building a rich fantasy mythos around yourself voting for a bad person definitely makes you weird
So many people I know have gone out of their way to tell me how much they trust/listen to/like/etc this rich shit and I'm just like why would you tell me this. It's like taking the Chinese exchsnge student to the Panda Express. What are you doing.

What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it

This week we play a fun game of Celebrity Dead/Alive, then discuss the experiment of turning a track star into a baseball player, a merchant with some unusual theories, and a woman with an interesting use for asparagus:

We're going to see Wuthering Heights tomorrow for Valentine's Day, and I'm growing quite concerned about the likelihood of the scenario where I hate it but my wife loves it

This is the key point - it's not about Moderna's flu vaccine, it's about sending a signal to the rest of the industry that vaccine development isn't viable in the US. It's all part of the larger anti-vaccine agenda.
FDA's decision not to accept Moderna's flu vaccine filing has sent shock waves through pharma. "When there’s uncertainty about the path to approval & the reliability of the process, that really has pretty serious consequences,” one player told @jasonmast.bsky.social. www.statnews.com/2026/02/12/f...
FDA’s rejection of Moderna threatens to stifle broader vaccine industry
Experts say the FDA "moved the goalposts" on Moderna, creating "a destructive precedent that will undermine the future of vaccine development" in the U.S.

I have very serious political beliefs. My main tactic is telling everyone that everything they are worried about is a distraction from the real issues.

I still remember how triumphant Obergefell Day felt. Basking in genuine progress in real time. I miss that
11 years ago, they took down the confederate flag at the South Carolina state house and it actually got support from a wide majority of people across the political spectrum. Even Trump at the time said it was the right decision. We live in a completely different world now.

It boggles my mind the toasted ravioli has never caught on as an appetizer outside of the greater St Louis area.

Going back to my downstate Illinois roots, you're missing out if you go your entire life never trying a horseshoe
While Buffalo wings are now a ubiquitous app all over the country, not every regional food goes national. What cuisine from YOUR region do you most want to share with the country/world?

Rep. Delia Ramirez to DHS officials: "I have as much respect for you as I do for the last white men who put on masks to terrorize communities of color. I have no respect for the inheritors of the Klanhood and the slave patrol. Those activities were criminal and so are yours."

Even setting everything else aside: can we address how funny the concept is of wanting a "pro-America concert?" What has happened to you that you need literally every single thing you engage in to be about America? It's just the country you live in, dawg, it's not that serious

production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

This is Iraq War style propaganda: They make the face of a well-researched, (near) academic consensus, that isn't egregiously controversial among experts on the subject... and make the face of it a famous but uncredentialed young woman so they can pretend it's vacuous and naive.
It’s time to put Billie Eilish’s theory of property out to pasture, Richard Epstein and Max Raskin write.

Nick Fuentes called Alex Pretti a “race traitor” for opposing ICE.

I argue that sentiment is actually widespread on the MAGA right.

My latest for @liberalcurrents.com

After Alex Pretti’s Murder, it’s Clear That MAGA Media Views White Liberals as Race Traitors
MAGA is committed to the belief that the people ICE is pursuing are inherently bad and that therefore opposing ICE is standing with criminals and rapists against the American people.

WIRED: This was an inside job by his bitter long-time rivals, the HOF has no integrity
