Watched HAVOC again and, yeah, this already was in my Top 10 of 2025, but it might be my favorite movie of the year, top of the list. It's like specifically designed and made for me.

Share a '90s movie that you think deserves more love.

"I take a gun...!" Heh. I can't stop thinking about this Norman Reedus clip now.

Rest in peace, Udo Kier, you weird king.

One detail I love about RED PLANET is how the suits' voice is Neil Ross, who also voiced Tuck Pendleton's pod's mainframe voice in INNERSPACE. It feels like a cute easter egg, and it fills my inner nerd with a great amount of joy.

Watching porn while listening to Gary Chang's score from UNDER SIEGE, and having a big glass of red wine. Sensory overload, but fuck it. I've had worse Sundays.

Question. I love this movie, but how come Arrow Video didn't commission an artwork for this one, the way they did it for RED PLANET, or OUTLAND, or THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT?

These are two things I love, but I never imagined them together. Worlds colliding. This is awkward.

THE FAMILY PLAN 2? Heh. What is this? So there was a first movie before this? Where did this come from? Look, I like Michelle Monaghan, I like Marky Mark, I like Christmas movies, but there's no way in hell I'm watching this thing. But, man, I had never even heard of these movies. 🤣

What is a friendship if not an allegedly non-demi curious, semi-binary relationship?

The more I hear about these Shout! Factory releases, the happier I feel I canceled my pre-orders from them, and I will be buying the Arrow Video releases instead.
TheFanaticalDragon says the Arrow subs for City on Fire are superior to Shout's subs (he suspects the latter might be partially AI generated). didn't realize that Shout also recently let a ton of people go, including Adam Protextor, who set up the Hong Kong Cinema Classics line in the first place

So 18yo is having a blast with her new career, but she's not loving Los Angeles as much. She says it's all spread out, and everything is far away from everything else, and she finds that frustrating.

Going back to the topic of these AI-detecting technologies some people rely on so much. A friend sent me this clip of @drtanksley.bsky.social and, uh, yeah, that's bleak. I'll admit I wasn't aware of this because I stay away from these tools and the AI discourse in general, but this is terrifying.
You think LLM-based chatbots can help students learn? Think again.

Take a few minutes to listen to Dr. @drtanksley.bsky.social clear explanation why this is very bad, harmful idea, especially for Black students.

So... still waiting for an announcement of TRON: ARES on blu-ray... like, any time soon, right? Come on, I want this one on my shelves.

It's weird to be writing a novel so long, so self-indulgent, but it's so much fun because I have no intention or energy to pursue publication or an agent. I'm doing this for the fun of materializing a story that so far has existed only in my head. It's therapeutic.

Oh, so you lot love films because you consider them important. Not because you actually enjoy the movies themselves. Got it. Yeah, that explains why some lists on here are so similar and lack personal taste.

Financial ruin. I owned a bakery for many years, but the pandemic destroyed us. So I figured I could use some of my other talents to make money, which is why I ended up working for the Canadian Armed Forces. Hey, it's a living.

Four Christmas movies to know me by.

I know I could have said LETHAL WEAPON, but it doesn't really feel like a Christmas movie to me. L.A. is not a very Christmassy city to me.

As I've been saying for years, PREDATOR 2 remains the best Predator movie ever made.
The ultimate hunter takes on an urban jungle. PREDATOR 2 more than holds its own, a fascinating time capsule and classic in its own right. What's your favorite line?

Now that my 4K copy from Arrow is on the way, this old copy of RED PLANET is officially retired, but I want to keep that red case I got for it ages ago. I just need to find a blu-ray with an artwork that is predominantly red or red-friendly. Any suggestions?

This is exactly what I expect to see in the next Jack Ryan movie.
Like a lot of franchises what I really want from any additional books or movies is for the characters to discover a ruined Statue of Liberty and go “It was earth! It was earth all along!” even if the books never indicated it would be elsewhere

One of the very few things I miss about the old site is that thread which made me Twitter's main character for a day, after I challenged Andrew Lloyd Webber to a steel cage match. It only blew up because Scott Wampler commented in my mentions. Scott was one of the funniest people ever.
