Look, I love some direct-to-streaming movies, but let's stop calling them blockbusters. They aren't. They're direct-to-video movies, which is fine! There are some great DTV movies! But calling them blockbusters is as silly as that "elevated horror" term. Horror is horror. DTV movies are DTV movies.

I didn't know about cranberry bog spiders until @sarahstubbssays.bsky.social mentioned them recently, and now they pop up constantly on my feed. 🕷️😅
There are two methods for cranberry harvest- wet method and dry method. Pictured is the ‘wet harvest’ method where the cranberry bog is flooded and the plants are shaken to dislodge the submerged berries, which float. (Fun fact: in a flooded bog the workers become high ground for the spiders.)

It doesn't really feel like Christmas season to me until I watch my favorite non-Christmas Christmas movie, CLIFFHANGER. I have a weird relationship with this movie and I only ever watch it during this time of the year. It's been this way since I got the laserdisc in December 1993.
