I'm moving to Bonn, Germany in a few weeks! My wife got into a master's program there, and I'll focus on intensive study of the German language for the first year. If you are in the area or know anyone I should meet there, please let me know!

The Washington Post's Editorial Board shows its contempt for renters - about 60% of DC households - and car-free families - about 35% of DC households.

Because we aren't rich enough to own homes or to pay $10k/year for a car, and because of this, they think we aren't worthy to govern ourselves.

Wild. We always say on the podcast that owning a car is required for effective full enfranchisement in most places of the USA because we are such a car-dependent society, but this is...next level. They say it like it's disqualifying for office.
WaPo editorial board launches a disgusting car-brained attack on Seattle's new mayor Katie Wilson.
"Who is Wilson? She does not own a car"

It's so bad you need to read it, so a gift link: wapo.st/4r2peP3

So… A BP agent filmed in LA in June kidnapping someone from a Walmart got arrested by Long Beach cops after drunkenly flashing his service pistol in a women’s restroom. He demanded they call BP Commander Bovino. After making bail he died of a drug OD at his parents house. lbpost.com/news/isaiah-...
A viral arrest, a drunken brawl and an overdose: the last days of a notorious Border Patrol agent
We obtained hours of body-camera video that give the fullest — and perhaps last — glimpse of Agent Isaiah Hodgson’s mindset when he became a flashpoint in the fight over immigration raids.

I wanted to share probably the most important sermon I’ve given and it’s while I’m being arrested. It’s torture pure and simple what happens at #Broadview. I’m ok, though I was thrown to the ground and choked with my pectoral cross. A review of the video shows I was peaceful - did I deserve this?

Also in here: DHS responded to the faith-led protest yesterday, calling participants “violent rioters” and “imbecilic morons” who need to “get a job.”

Asked about the statement, one UMC pastor who participated in the protest told me: "This is our job." religionnews.com/2025/11/15/a...

All I have to say about the Nuzzi profile is that at the end of it she jokes about how she destroyed her life. In fact she did not do that. She has a book, a magazine job, this lovely profile. People’s lives are being destroyed by this administration, however, including by -well, you know.

The conflict between law enforcement and Christian ministry goes back two thousand years. The Cook County Sheriff's Office seeks to continue persecuting those who practice what Jesus preached.
at one point, i watched a cook county sheriff’s officer (who appears to be in charge) point out a priest in the crowd.

he and a couple officers then went into the crowd , dragged him into the street, and arrested him.

situation is still tense as crowd jostles with police to get into the street.

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Oligarchy is corrosive, it is undemocratic and it is ruinous to a nation's prosperity.

But most of all, oligarchy is very stupid.

Clearly, Bowser thinks this inside look at how she handled Trump vindicates her approach...but if we get new videos every day of ICE patrolling with MPD to deport people, is it having the effect she hoped?

Not helping that she gets defensive about it at every turn:

It's hard to imagine just 10 years later how much 2015 was a high-water mark of post-Cold War liberal internationalism: the SDGs, Paris Agreement, JCPOA, Cuba and TPP (technically Feb 2016).

But all were achieved even as the foundation upholding that global order were corroded beyond repair.
