You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.

“We are going to have to live here with each other” sounds good in a vacuum. But it reveals itself to be a remarkably naïve and/or disingenuous proposition as soon as we move from abstract notions of “our disagreements” to asking: What are we disagreeing over, exactly?

We are witnessing the birth of new generational trauma. I remember my Oma's face when she recalled the horrors of WWII in her tiny town. People, her friends disappearing. She fought Hitler from the inside. I will continue that legacy here. Love to all 💜

feel like health sciences faculty at UNC Chapel Hill have to mobilize with the faculty senate to help save tenure for their colleagues 👀
This is the first media coverage that I have seen of the UNC board's quiet decision to largely pause granting tenure outside of the health sciences. This is worth watching over the coming weeks.
