Incredibly heartbreaking. He gave @maprva.org a tour just 3 weeks ago, sending his staff home and staying behind so that we could spend just a *little more* time looking around. His joy of the collection was contagious.

Infuriating that we have another pedestrian killed by a car.

A beloved RVA figure killed by a driver in broad daylight is a tragedy made worse by how preventable it was. City leaders love touting Vision Zero, but dither on redesigning demonstrably dangerous roads out of incompetence, lack of urgency, fear of inconveniencing drivers, etc. This is the result.

Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.

Just fuck you. Fuck you all.

I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

Upset that guns overtook cars as the number one killer of children in America, the GOP sat down and asked themselves, what can we do?
Exclusive: Republicans plan to challenge vehicle-safety mandates, such as automatic emergency braking and alarms that remind drivers a child is in the back seat.

#30DayMapChallenge | Day 13 10-minute map | Tiny #LEGO #Georgia Map
I didn’t have my LEGO elements with me, so I used whatever pieces I had to build a tiny Georgia map. It’s probably the least geometrically/topologically accurate LEGO map, but it's still a strong candidate for the cutest one. 😅🍑

The "good cops vs. bad cops" veneer between US Dems and Repubs is wearing thin when it's obvious they are all benefiting from the same interests. Thanks for nothing, as per usual, you feckless rats.*

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

I too like this technique. I think it works esp well if you use the same colors for your dots as the heatmap. Here's an example I made a while ago for how to do this in Ultra: overpass-ultra.us/docs/Example...
Interactive heatmaps that fade away to reveal points on zoom - a useful technique for handling dense spatial data.
