Starmer still not grasping that his own failure to attack far-right rhetoric feeds homophobia, transphobia, racism and fascism generally.
Or that he's the PM, apparently. Like, not to state the obvious dude, but you have a pretty big platform to do something about this shit.

This really needs emphasizing. The entirety of the UK media ecosystem is utterly fixated on a 100% fabricated "crisis".
Net migration has fallen again to 204,000, the lowest level since 2021 and is forecast to continue falling over the coming years.

Not that you would know it from the endless coverage of Britain's supposed "immigration crisis"

Previous Prime Minister Boris Johnson was born in the United States. I'd love for her to tell me that's different and then try to explain why without being racist.
Excuse my language but …

I am so fucking tired of shit like this.

Apparently it’s a crime to remind military members to follow the law and refuse illegal orders (something that it is ingrained in basic) and the pentagon can recall you into the service to discipline you. However, the pentagon will not prosecute you for dodging the draft five times.

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population.

How can this Labour Government say this is a "cost of living" budget and refuse to tax the rich?

They care about protecting power and wealth. And cost of living is a buzz phrase for them. Dire.

If you have an internet connection to download a pirated book, you can use that internet connection to borrow from a library collection.

Libraries pay authors, pirate sites don’t, and the cost to you is the same.
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

Never forget. Never never forget the scumbag buffoon who killed so many people and scarred the lives of so many more.
Let’s never forget rationing ventilators and Zoom funerals. Boris Johnson and his cronies partied while our loved ones lay dying alone. COVID-19 was the worst public health crisis in a century. We should have locked down earlier. To some of us, PPE was not a get-rich-quick commodity.

It’s a sign of how insane the news cycle is these days that this historic failure of government policy got just one day of news coverage this week.

Not saying that’s right or wrong, but it’s astonishing how quickly the agenda moves on these days.
BREAKING: UK’s response to Covid was “too little too late”. Acting faster could have saved 23,000 lives in England according to the public inquiry.

Boris Johnson presided over a “toxic, sexist, chaotic culture” in No10, where rule-breaking seriously undermined public confidence.

Laura Kuenssberg showed a chart tracking a small increase in the share of income tax paid by high earners.

She did not, of course, show a chart tracking the vastly increased wealth of the ultra-rich.

This is about *wealth* tax, not *income* tax. Crucial difference.
